Re: Continuation: IIIPRO E4 4-Piston Hydraulic MTB Brakes - Are they to be trusted? Since my last posting, instead of out riding on this beautiful Saturday, I compiled all of the Bucklos IIIPro brake variations I could find.   Attached are 2 images that show the list of models and brands, and a picture showing all of the different levers types.

My top 3 to look at are the; R2X4, R3X4 and the Frog Wake,   These pique my interests the most for eventual replacement of the IIIPro levers.

Re: Current State of XXS and XS frames - Junior Sized i think the Big Rock Sohtea might be as close as you get from China direct manufacturers. Their XXS is a 45cm but the seat tube is only 40cm - it has a pretty aggressive slope on the top tube. it has a standard 27.2mm seat post so that would be flexible for fit. that bike could be built up very light.

Re: Current State of XXS and XS frames - Junior Sized This is an x68 in size 44... she was nearly 140 cm tall when she started riding and training on it... I think that’s the minimum height for this frame size... She loves it 😉

the weight is unpainted with all the attachments removed but those frames are shockingly light, the fork is a featherweight too. I pondered grabbing one before i got the SL8. if, or more appropriately when, your kid drops me on this new rig, i'm gonna be hella embarrassed and have to get an unrestricted e-bike!

Microck Aethos clone quick review Last month on a whim I picked up a Microck Aethos clone on AliExpress:

It was a Choice item and shipping was free. Stacked with coupons it actually came out around the $400 usd range with tax. I talked to the seller and they were easy to communicate with supplying me with a 0° offset seat post, 36cm integrated drop bar and a spare rear derailleur hanger. The only downside to this frameset is that it's semi-internal and the standard model (not the lightweight version). They did offer me a full internal, lightweight model for an increased price, but I didn't feel like spending extra.

Anyways, my plan was building it out with spare bin parts I had laying around. It took about a month to ship and delivered via FedEx. When I received the frame, it weighed about 815g in size 52cm. I put the frame together with an old ER9 electronic groupset. Total weight once everything installed is 6.9kg. The hardest part of the frame was getting the rear hydraulic brake hose installed since the holes are ridiculously small. I had to spend time using a round straight file to widen them up. Other than that it was pretty easy to assemble. The BB is T47 and the threads were smooth.

I've taken the bike on a few rides and everything runs solid. The fit is actually quite aggressive and I tend to corner better with upward seat stays. I'm still dialing in my climbing with this bike, but it's not much different from my SPCycle R088. I actually don't mind the semi-internal cabling, I might take this bike for traveling just for easy disassembly. I also have another crankset on order. My older Magene power meter doesn't fit T47 BBs since it's too tight.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this frame. It's not the most fanciest, but it's fairly modern, easy to assemble and for the price it's a solid deal. Also I'm quite sure it's the same frame as the BigRock Sothea. Microck claims to be the OEM manufactureer and the specs seem to match up. I'm just glad mine didn't come with a big logo on the down tube!  :)

Haven't taken any good photos yet, but I'll post here when I do.
