Not looking as bad as other ones I seen where the paint covers the whole of the BB sleeve. Looking at a genuine SL8, the Specialized bonded BB threads don't have an outside lip on the sleeve, so when the BB gets perfectly machined you can see the bare carbon. On the X68, to get to the carbon you'll have to go beyond the alu sleeve lip. I may be wrong, would love to see a frame after being faced
I'm waiting for my X8 details to be finalized. Still not sure to get it on that lovely British racing green or bare carbon and get creative. Either way I'll be gently facing the BB and go at it on the brake mounts with diamond cutting bits for the facing tool

Is that an x68 faced? Thanks for the pic. So if that far is required to achieve 68mm spacing it means Specialized also got rid of the sleeve lip. I'll be getting the Vernier callipers on it then. Cheers

Received my frame. Six weeks since ordering to UK
Size 52. 865G frame, 425G uncut fork in translucent blue. Dark until the light hits it. This is a mist of blue on a raw frame with glossy finish
Paint looks well done, no missing spots or anything. There are a couple of tiny dimples on the carbon here and there, as if no fillers have been applied. It seems only cosmetic and I’m not too worried. You’ll get what you pay for, some are lucky some are not. Apart from that, fork and all races look clean and smooth
BB with no overspray and threads all clean and good. Anyway,I did chased and slightly faced
Brake mounts as expected needed facing. All done, with before and after pics
Now waiting for a set of Zen wheels, carbon cranks from DFS and Ultegra groupset at some point. No hurry during winter
I can provisionally say the Hylix 15 to 0 offset fits. Only 0.20mm narrower that the Tan Tan post. I tested it with a set of wheels, no cranks and bouncing up and down full force without carbon paste
Fingers crossed it works since the inline post will help achieving the perfect fit
