It’s the entire end to end ‘journey’ (cough, dirty word) for a customer. From learning about the brand, checking its feeling on all channels (website, insta, forums), to the ordering process (for example, status tracker of your order!), to the way your package is packaged, the way the box looks, the manuals included, some nice little extra’s like bolts with xmcs logo (they are already there).

But you have to start somewhere, and be mindful not to lose the dna of what makes xmcs great: factory direct. Before you know it, you suddenly have a different brand and it will move away from what xmcs really is.

Anyways, wheels should arrive today or Monday. Monday we could make some time to start the build. And we have the go to share some photo’s of the final build prior to Eurobike.

46T fits. Spacers as per Bikone BB manual (6mm DS). Chainline around 49mm. At 47.5mm it will be quite close. Don’t think you’ll manage a 48T with a 47.5mm chain line. If you’ll stick to 49mm… maybe yes.

That’s a 6mm allen key between CS and tire.

Unfortunately the 2.4 tires I have are a PITA to mount. Will give it another go as they’ll be great for Eurobike to show the huge tire clearance.

Now that would have indeed been a problem. 46T, or 48T with a 1-2mm wider chain line / or running it a bit closer to the CS is good enough when you look at the competition.

Shame I have to build up another bike and don’t have the time now to throw on the 50T to see how far we’ll come with that.

Almost starting with our build, few last things with the gravel frame to be done. I gotta say, the VRT is quite a special frame.

Painted, with UDH hanger and front derailler mount just a hair above 900g. It has a very narrow front profile. Can’t wait to have it fully build up and give it a go.

I will be sharing the results in a full length video this week. I was holding off making my review on the VRT until the data was finalized.

The information is nuanced so the plan is to stick to just the high level information since I'm not Hambini or Peak Torque  8)

Re: XMCS: 2026 Aero Gravel bike It’s a shame it didn’t work out with Aerys. Personally, I think the new logo is awful. However, I don’t think selling the frame without a logo is a good idea, as brand image is one of the few areas where Western brands are still currently superior. Many consumers want a recognisable logo with a consistent design language. I’m no different. Frames without a logo are strongly associated with the cheaper end of the market.

Here is my idea for a logo concept. I think the logo on the rims is very good, so in my opinion it would look just as good on the frame. It’s simple, it’s already recognisable thanks to the wheels, and it’s visually appealing enough for the western market.

Re: XMCS: 2026 Aero Gravel bike First of all, thanks for the positive feedback on my last mock-up. So here is a second, slightly improved version.

I really liked the choice of the word ‘aerys’, but the font didnt match the ‘XMCS’ on the rims. You cant please everyone but the fact that the majority would prefer a frame without any branding shows that the current concept isnt quite right yet. I very much hope that the latest logo posted by requiem doesnt get the green light, as it again doesnt match the font on the rims and lacks a consistent design language. The ENVE logo, even though its just as intricate, is symmetrical and simple, making it very pleasing to the eye. The proposed font is very obtrusive, looks cheap and lacks a timeless appeal.

I hope more care is put into the design as (for me) branding is just as much a part of a good frame as the quality or the lay-up.

Edit: I just want to make clear that Im simply trying to help. The GRT and VRT frames look great otherwise, Ive already seen them in Frankfurt at the weekend.
