Just order my frame, size XL with integrated bar. Quite tall (200cm) so had to discuss the sizing with my bike fiter. Compared to my roadbike it's quite a long and low frame, but with some extra spacers for the front that Chris kindly included we did the math and should be fine. Maybe not the most aestetic front but when you are literally several meters tall usually not how it goes anyway haha. Does anyone know if it's possible to leave some extra fork above the bar or it needs to be cut to size to be rideable? Yes the Sram dub t47 bb does work, i thought the same and was going to get the rotor one which specifies 85.5 and 86.5 but the local mechanic said it was not an issue. Got mine built up this weekend and did two "test rides"  of ~65 km each. Was in a hurry, so didn't bleed the brakes, but that didn't matter much.Mine is a size M with 110 mm stem. I left the smallest spacer underneath the stem. Built the bike with SRAM Rival XPLR E1, Senicx PR2 crankset, Elitewheels Aero Gravel wheels, Ullicyc handlebars and Ryet saddle. Thunder Burt 2.1" tires, Onirii silicone bar tape.    Weight is ~8.2 kg with pedals, but possibly without bottle cages, can't quite remember ... The ride is so good! I just want to send it literally all the time, so my legs were quite cooked sunday evening. The bike is very stable, and the big tires is like a cheat code on washboard gravel, yet surprisingly nimble and it turns like the above poster said, like it's on rails. E1 levers are really nice and the handlebar offered nice ergonomics. Building went surprisingly well, given this was my first foray into building with hydraulic brakes and full internal routing. There were lots of overspray on the brake mounts, so I had to file them down quite a lot. I ordered both seatpost just in case, but I am using the zero setback one. The hole which the entire clamping assembly goes into is conical, bot not entirely clean, so everything did not come together cleanly the first five times I tried to adjust the saddle tilt or change saddle. I filed down some excess material and mounted the clamp with a thin layer of grease, and no problems after that. October 13, 2025, 01:45:27 AM |

I've mainly used by Ali bibs for commuting and they've all been great, but I've only done 1-2hr rides max in them. No discomfort but if I'm going out on a longer ride I'll use something I know works well At some point I'll have to bite the bullet and try a 6hr ride in some but I've not been doing many long rides lately and if I'm gonna go ride a sportive then I'm bringing out my best kit also with winter coming I'll be swapping to tights at some point and I haven't bought many Chinese brands in tights, just shorts. I have some 7mesh "overtights" without a bib that have been great for nippy morning rides (or if it's been raining and I cba getting covered in mud splashes from the shitty cycle paths here) but they could extend my use of shorts into colder weather. Probably not gonna have the chance for a longer ride now until early Nov, so hopefully I can try a 4-5hr ride using the 'red' pads many of you guys have been banging on about! Thanks a lot!! I’ll have a look for the Italian pad! Any specific bib you prefer? I really like the Darevie bibs with the Korean Lycra and the Elastic Interface chamois. It’s well positioned for me and I like the chamois. Got the grey one on sale (the difference to the other colours is remarkable). Are there bibs that have chamois’ as comfortable as Assos or other premium brands? I’ve bought assos before but they are now almost or over 300€ per pair which is ridiculous… Pissei is under around 135€ with codes on their website and it's better then asoss. I’ve bought assos before but they are now almost or over 300€ per pair which is ridiculous…Almost all of the "Elastic Interface" bibs (some real, some copies) are good, as are these crazy cheap guys-https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805886380233.html? They have knickers and tights too. I've worn Assos for years. The pricing has always been crazy. In fairness, they seem to last almost forever if you have a few in rotation. But I'll buy these cheap guys from now on. The only thing is sizing. The cheap ones I linked are very true to Euro/American sizing similar to Assos. Others are asian sized, I'm a s/m in Assos or Castelli but a L/xlg in some of those. Look at the charts are read the comments. Another deal is the Ralpa jersey's mentioned above. Not nearly as tech as the Assos stuff, but they're nice, wearable, relaxed fit much like Rapha training jerseys, and best of all you can put them in the washer without worrying about the fancy zipper pull that Assos uses catching and destroying a $150 jersey. I usually wear them when I wear wind breakers or am riding alone, so I don't get comments from fellow riders, or "buying Chinese shaming" despite the clothes being of high quality and comfortable to wear.
