yeah, attributed some fuzziness of the photo to black parts on black frame on a white background and using a phone, but looking at it closely on a bigger screen, the details are all fucked, very clearly generated slop, just a cancer on modern society

Frame arrived on Wed. Very well packaged, and all wrapped in that stretchy foam roll. Haven't fully unpacked it yet - want to keep it protected to take to get built. But I did open up the bars enough to look them over and confirm they are the 380/110 I ordered so very happy about that. The finish that I can see so far is excellent so no reason to believe the rest of it won't be just as good. Bike Frame Index - My database on Chinese carbon frames I discovered this forum in July and have spent an intense few months reading threads and bookmarking information while researching my own (road) frame purchase. To make sense of it all, I compiled my notes and bookmarks into a database that might be useful to others, especially people new to buying bike frames from China, perhaps doing their first road frame build: bikeframeindex (dot) com What it is: A summary of my research comparing popular Chinese carbon road frames on here, Weight Weenies, YouTube and Reddit. Each entry synthesizes what I found across hundreds of forum posts about geometry, quality, reliability, and value. It's of course quite biased toward my own priorities, and i'll underline that I am quite risk averse, but I've tried to capture trending issues and recurring themes from community discussions. What's included:
Some emerging frames like the Lightcarbon LCR018-D aren't included - first deliveries are just hitting the market now, so there isn't enough feedback yet. I've mentioned the new Tideace frame, not more. The selection reflects frames with more history or community discussion at the time I was researching. Some models like the LTK 268-D is “bundled” within the VB thread and has fewer entries but some of the mentions suggest it could be a notch better in terms of build. To call this dataset statistically significant would be wrong, but the level of knowledge and dedication on here and other forums makes the feedback highly credible in my opinion. What's next: I plan to add more frames in quarterly batch updates as feedback accumulates. If there's interest, I'd welcome community suggestions for which frames to research and add next. I’ve not considered Gravel frames or TT frames, just because I don’t look for any. I own my dream build gravel bike so road frames was top of mind, but if the site seems to deliver on its purpose- helping others in my shoes, I won’t exclude adding other categories over time. No commercial interests: No affiliate links or monetization - this is just my research notes made public. I've added placeholders in the code for Google ads in case I bother with that later, but no plans currently. Check it out and let me know your thoughts. Constructive feedback welcome. A bike with a rider on it will always go faster than one that's in the shed with no wheels. Congratulations if you’ve found a bike that feels faster to you, we all love that feeling. And, I don’t mean to troll but I believe that your comments should be tempered with some empiricism. How does one know what is an aerodynamic bike (by which we mean an aerodynamically efficient bike)? It is proven that we can’t necessarily see aerodynamics. Many shapes which are proven aerodynamically efficient don’t look it and vice versa. Aerodynamic testing of bikes has improved, but still provides only approximations of real world aerodynamics. Aerodynamic claims and advertising are generally general w/o reference to the key operating conditions of the claim. I have yet to see bicycling related aero claims based on, or promising, results on the full frame and/or rider size range. Marketing often touts the benefits of deep profiles w/o considering that the leading edge is most critical and should be parabolic. Rim/tire profiles are hysterical: they represent only one small portion of the 360 degrees of the wheel presented to the wind. Cross winds and controlling stall characteristics are critical to: 1) ensuring stability regardless of effective wind direction; 2) tend to guarantee shorter profiles which are less efficient than longer profiles. Riding 40kph in a pack doesn’t depend so much on bike aero as it does pack aero. That’s why people ride in packs. So it’s problematic for a rider w/o wind tunnel access to evaluate what is the most aero bike for themself. And accordingly, it’s usually a fools errand for an individual to try to select a new bike based on supposed aero efficiency. Aero is great, but hard to find, October 30, 2025, 09:27:11 AM |

Guys, i think its working not proper test and indoors and i was blown from yesterday ride, but xcadey gen 2 demonstrated some problems even indoors. pp5 solid on sprints like my pes505 or fsa powerbox Tomorrow will ride proper test and post here. I have 1 suspicious sprint undershoot (900 vs 950 and flat cadence reading from pp5), but everything else seems fine. Please check my files, maybe i missed something Whole ride was with +3% offset for pp5 (after my first ride), but i think it should be +2% - 1 watt under direto on low watts and spot on on 300+ is better than exact low watts but +2-5 on high Comparing with Elite Direto (very first one) and Magene PES505. For past 7 years Direto was tested with FSA PowerBox (Power2Max NGEco) and Xcadey gen1 spider. In those tests Direto had identical readings with some constant offset - fsa no offset, magene offset +4%, xcadey gen1 -2% - so Direto my control device. I have only spider PMs, so no triple recording and no outdoor comparison Test protocol - copied from GPLama, with free ride first, sprints, some ERG work, more sprints and 2 stops in the middle for calibration.
