They originally claimed 120kg max weight and pressure up to 120psi. A guy bought them from alix exactly because of those specs. Yes, he double-checked with the shop about the working pressure (90-120psi), and they confirmed it. According to them, some fancy light carbon was used that didn't compromise strength, ofc. And guess what, after a short while, running the specified high pressure, the rear wheel shattered during a ride (yeah, delamination thing).
Elitewheels fuqed around for some time with classic: "please close the dispute friend, we will send (or already sent) a new replacement friend, trust me bro and close the dispute". Eventually, alix stepped in and asked for a formal diagnostic certificate from a workshop to confirm it was unrideable. The guy did the stuff, sent the docs and got a full refund.
Happy end! Kind of.
PS: the dispute took three months.

 You want your rim replaced because while the pressure was a bit high, it shouldn’t be enough to cause this delamination. Reasonable request.

I also can see Elites point of view why they need to “deny” warranty claims when they can. They can’t have much of a margin on that wheel in the 1st place. Verses with  “name brands” we pay multiple times the cost of the product to the brand, while this sucks, if something happens this large mark up means they don’t mind sending out a replacement to keep customers happy. You already paid 3-5x anyways.

With that being said, we have all heard stories of Canyon and Specialized denying warranty claims for the smallest things. Like you couldn’t prove you used a torque wrench, there’s a scuff on the frame, did you crash? and this caused the crack etc.

You’re being fair, but got the short end of the stick imo. I feel like this was very obviously a manufacture defect, but telling them you pumped it up to “high” pressure made you an easy scapegoat.

 I wouldn’t write elite off as they seem to have one of the better track records for budget wheels. Unfortunately at these prices, we can’t have it all and fulfilling warranty claims only adds cost. Sucks, but being able to get a (Usually) solid Carbon wheelset for $375 shipped from china is also a crazy deal.

Time passes, the kilometers increase, I can't give myself an answer
I just realize China is a part of the world does not respect any laws and because of this we can choose to pay 50€ or 15€ for the same piece of aluminum, based on our conscience and honesty.
But, Considering that every day I am robbed of taxes on my work and I pay 22% of VAT...I choose China and I'm willing to wait 10days shipping instead of 1 day from Europe.
The body are pretty identical
The bearing in DTSwiss parts are of better quality

It's already a mess if there is stuff happening like this but atleast DT Swiss took responsibility and checked every single rim.

Re: Experience with ZTTO ULT (Steel Cogs, Alloy Spider) Cassette? 11 sp 11-34 for me, for some reason cogs 4-5 has the chain slipping, I have indexed the gears several times and still slipping with new chains and all.

It happened when I swapped the group from one bike to another. Didn't happen on the first one. However, around 1500 miles on the casette w/o any issues so for the price, well worth. I also have an 11-50 and that one is great.

Budget Build BXT SL-115 I was interested in the BXT SL 115 but I found almost no user experience and „real world“ photos. So I decided to share my experience.
May I introduce myself briefly: I am a Swiss cyclist, 61 years old and I live in a region with lots of hills. So please excuse the mistakes in my English writing. Many years ago, I was a racer, but today I enjoy cycling despite of the fact, that I lose my physical power from year to year. Some of you may know…
I had many race bikes and I still prefer the racy style like Giant TCR or Cannondale Supersix Evo.
I have two black bikes and I wanted now a colorful frame. But the prices for new bikes are much too expensive.

So I set some goals:
•   11 speed Di2 (used)
•   Hydraulic disc brakes
•   Fully integrated cable routing
•   < CHF 2'000.- (approx. US$ 2'500.-)
•   < 7.5 kg

After some evenings of surfing in the internet, I ordered at Aliexpress a BXT SL 115, Elitewheels Edge and many other parts. As a group set I bought a used 11-speed Shimano Ultegra Di2.

I don’t like cassettes beginning with 11-teeth cogs. I go for Shimano 14-28 teeth and I bought on ebay chainrings from Bikingreen 30/46. I expect no problems in the Swiss Alps.

After 4 weeks the frame arrived.
 
Pros:
•   Good packaging
•   Complete bike with headset, bottom bracket, handlebar, seatpost, etc.
•   Nice paint job; but you can feel the edge between black and red
•   Visually good quality
Cons:
•   The rubber plugs for the DI2-cables for front and rear derailleur are missing
•   The BXT-logos are not under clear coat. I suppose they are water transfer film and this will not last long
•   The adapters for the break calipers were not included
•   The color of the frame is glossy, but the seatpost is matte
•   The headset cap is too thick. You have to cut the shaft of the fork too short, if you want to use the delivered cap.
•   The rubber cover for the seat post clamp doesn’t look good. The painting in this area is not neat.

The installation of the bike was without any problem; even the fully integrated cable routing in the handlebar went straight forward.

I almost finished the build. I will show photos of the bike and a detailled list of all parts (price and weight).

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Havent seen the IIIPRO 6R in search so here it is. It was first shown by Trace Velo at Eurobike2025. This converts your run of the mill cable actuated brifter brakes to hydraulic so you can run any hydr caliper. Sadly you cannot buy the adapter separately but when i asked the the store replied with wait a little more.
