Re: Which immersive wax are you using? I just use plain paraffin now, might add a little mso2 occasionally. I've stopped using ptfe because its a forever chemical and toxic.

Top notes: Golden Apples, Cinnamon Leaf, Clove. Middle notes: Apple Peel, Cracked Walnuts, Brown Sugar. Base notes: Amber, Melted Butter, Maple Syrup, Vanilla. Top note is the initial impression of the fragrance, middle note is the main body of the scent and base is its final impression.

Yesterday night I was tuning the rear mech and spinning the wheel chain I can smell the candy apple scent...
Once dry, the color of wax was white and not red

:-) Mission accomplished then :-) I wanted to scream racing - but its not for any actual racing. Its my first ever build, I only started cycling a few years ago and its transformed my life - mental and physical health. I wanted to pay a little tribute to the things that have contributed to that journey over the last few years and for me thats Wattbike, Zwift, Joining the Atom Racing Team on Zwift and racing in my fav racing series - FRR. All that has lead to some epic IRL rides in the last 2 years doing things I'd never thought possible on a bike. This bike is my tribute to all those contributing factors.

Re: Tideace NEW Gravel Frame: GR201 Hi everyone! I have finished building my gravel bike on the GR201 frame. When I saw the finished frame I was afraid I would have to repaint the whole thing because it seemed too bright and colorful, but after adding the rest of the black accessories I now think it turned out quite interesting. The weight of the bike weighed like in the store (without accessories and pedals) pleasantly surprised me, even though I switched tires from Tufo Thundero to Specialized Pathfinder, where each tire is 100g heavier the weight was 8,29kg. After adding Zeray pedals, bottle cages, Garmin mount, mirror and a fairly heavy bell, the weight increased by 500g to 8,79kg. I am 186cm tall and the frame size is 56cm - in my opinion ideal, although now I would order a 100mm cockpit instead of the current 80mm. I was afraid that the position would be too aggressive, but for now it seems very comfortable.

Re: Tideace NEW Gravel Frame: GR201 So today was the Maiden Sportive ride for my build. 125km with 1500m of climbing. Handled it all without any issue - and the most comfortable bike ride I’ve ever had.
After the initial “test” build I decided to invest in some upgrades which were 100% worth it imo.
The final components inc:

Wheeltop EDS Tx
GRX Cranks 48/31
4iii Single sided PM on crank arm.
SRAM Cassette and Chain 11/36 (fits HG Hub)
Redshift Suspension Saddle Post
Redshift Suspension Stem
Redshift Kitchen Sink + Grips
32mm Tyre on Front
40mm Tyre on Rear

Shifting was flawless - it handled the front from 31 to 48 with ease - easily as good as the Di2 system I borrowed the cranks from
And the rear cassette didn’t even need fine tuning after selecting 11s in the app.
The brakes are similarly fantastic. No issue.

Excellent gear range for my needs. Didn’t really feel I was spinning out on the flats, and I was holding the front group until first food stop, so not a Sunday spin. And obviously I had plenty for the climbs - the 36 is maybe unnecessary, but nice to have a bail out.

The smoothness and comfort of the ride was insane. Redshift is really good, really. Those grips also make such a difference.

So happy and proud of my build. I genuinely didn’t miss my Canyon Grail at any stage today - this build is on a par, and I dare even more comfortable.

Thanks to all that helped here with your submissions and updates and to those that helped me out directly by answering my questions. It really made a difference.

It's a bit less theoretical and more practical than the Jobst Brandt book. He also shows how to build a basic truing stand and dish gauge. I've built a couple wheels following his guide and it worked out well.

LTwoo 1x12 groupset with a ZRace (I think) 36t crank.
Some old Prime wheels with Tufo Thundero HD in 44c. Rides fine, a few minor adjustments needed but happy so far.

There are absolutely tons of build guides on YouTube, so choose one which matches the build list most accurately.

It's not that uncommon with carbon seatposts vs carbon frames.
Did you try already with carbon paste? I wouldn't make an assessment until you tried that (which is normal practice anyway)
