Re: Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road) After spending a foggy and cold day in the workshop, the bike is ready and I did a short 20k spin to shoot some proper photos.

First Impressions of the Ride
- great position - can imagine going 10+ hours on this
- good and fast acceleration and direct in corners - but not as a full on racer (which is good)
- absolutly silent

Partlist:
Frameset: LCR18-D 58cm
Wheels: LB WR45 with Sapim CX-Ray / CX-Sprint, Son Delux and Carbon Ti X-Hub SL
Groupset:
- Force E1 Brifters with Hope RX4 Calipers
- Force E1 Road Powermeter Crankset with Raketa 42T Chainring
- 1295 10-52 Cassette
- Rival D1 XPLR Derailleur with Garbaruk Cage (to shift the 52 Cog)
- XX Chain
- DUB Road T47 BB (used 1*3mm DUB Spacer on the drive side)
- SRAM CLX-R 160mm Discs
Tires: Michelin Pro5 35mm, Cyclami TPU Tupes
Bartape: Burgh X
Cages: Canyon CF SLX with Titan Screw
Specials: Sinewave Beacon 2, Allygn EdelMÜ

Weight: 8.55KG (without all the Dynamostuff, the bike would end up somewhere at 7.95KG)


The building process was super easy. I´ve build a lot of bikes and I did not had any errors or problems. Of course, the routing of the cables takes a while but is not that bad to be honest.
Some things Lightcarbon should think of changing:
- Adding some sealings to the Headset (Im happy that I changed to Stainless with good seals) Its basically all open.
- changing the position of the Seatpost Locking screw (barely possible to reach it with a torque wrench)
- chaging the mechanism of the Saddleclamp: its pure shit - go for something easy to adjust like thomson or all the others. This design is hard to reach and a pain to change a few degrees. Who ever came along with this design should be punished by mounting saddles with this post until the end of life... :D

Other than that: easy peasy.

Tipps / Recommendations:
- For all the DUB/SRAM users. Get yourself the WolfTooth DUB T47 BB Tool. Great design, very solid.
- Get Stainless Steel Headset bearings, use loads of grease
- Tape down the front hose to the fork steerer
- Apply loads of grease to the whole front steerer (especially whats IN the frame) by that, you prevent damage due to the rear hose rubbing on the steerer in the headtube)

ordered with handlebars HBR17 420x110
If someone ordered also 420x110 they are not in stock and you need to wait couple of weeks. I replaced them with 420x120 which are on stock (420x100 too)

Just incase anyone needs to know. I built mine up without the spacer and found there was a very slight rub. Not too much, but I can imagine it would mark the paint eventually. I have now fitted the spacer.

Yes, if they say X days, reality might be closer to 2X. Mine arrived about two months later than first promised. Was it annoying? Sure.

But also… perspective matters.

We’re ordering highly customizable carbon frames direct from overseas for a fraction of what big brands charge. Incredible value, tons of options, and a seriously good end product. That combo usually comes with a trade-off somewhere, and in this case it’s patience.

We can’t have premium quality, bargain pricing, full customization AND Amazon Prime speed all at once.

So if your frame is running late: take a breath, ride the bike you already own, maybe stop refreshing tracking for the 14th time today, and remember there are bigger problems in life.

Good things come to those who wait. Mine did.

​At the end of the day, 'great quality' or 'custom paint' means nothing to me if I can't actually ride the bike. I am about to leave for a two-month trip on my old bike. As things stand, I won't see the LC frame until July at the earliest, even if they were to ship it tomorrow. This isn't a premium experience—it's a logistics failure.


It’s simple. Don’t buy from them if it’s an issue for you. Ask for a refund, and buy something else instead.

Did a regular 30mile (1800ft climbing) loop yesterday on the lcr018d. Already done this route many times on a trek domane and a tarmac sl7, so can compare it between the two. Road surface is poor in places, plenty of climbing in the route. Expectation was for the lcr018d to sit in between the two.
Had a fear the seat post would slip or the front bottle would go flying out due to the cover mechanism, but they never.

Clocked my fastest time , which surprised me. Did have some tailwind on way out, but I've had this before or on the way back. Speed doesn't mean much I know, but I've done this route 10+times each on other bikes. All three bikes weigh about the same.
Climbing: Better than the trek, tarmac being more nimble surpasses this.
Comfort: Better than the Trek and SL7. Delighted with this. This is probably its greatest attribute.
Speed: This bike is not slow !
Hopefully the seat post holds up, will find out in due course.

Negative
I experienced a rattling sound, and it appears its the storage cover. Frame was delivered last year, so must be the first version of it. Really need to get this resolved as otherwise I'm super impressed with the bike.

You should measure 3 times, check 5 times and then cut once.
