Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts My frame arrived!

Hope you all like the color, I think its fun!

Here is my clearance with the cheap ebay 165x42.5 2018 fox dps bottomed out. When its already bottomed out and I continue to bounce on it the frame doesn't budge. I agree with NumberZero and Medico, 42.5 seems bomber.

This build is looking better and better. No problems so far. Quality is great

Re: Carbonda FM909 This should visualize the different progression characteristics of the FM936 and FM909.

The blue line is the overall force needed to go from 0 to full travel.
The red line is the force needed to get the next 1mm of travel at any given point.

Both shocks are the same except for a slightly bigger volume spacer in the FM936 to match the overall bottom out resistances.

As you can see, the FM909 has a more pronounced "dip" in the late mid stroke whereas the FM936 is more evenly progressive. So with the same SAG and bottom out force, the FM936 will offer a better mid stroke platform and sit higher in its travel. Maybe the soft mid stroke of the FM909 has its advantages for an XC bike, but for down country, the FM936 should be better suited - also because of the 10-15mm extra travel.

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain
What is the point of buying wheeltop edx while a GX AXS is cheaper and proven?
Or is the quality of wheeltop more on the same level as XX1 groupset?
Here is why I went this direction versus SRAM.

-  Weight, my EDS OX, with battery, weighs 350 grams.   XX1 weighs 373 grams, X01 =390 grams, GX-AXS weighs 463 grams.

-  My inspection indicates that the manufacturing, quality and finish of the EDS is right up there with XX1 and XO1.  (Therefore my cost delta comparison is EDS VS at least X01)

-  (Not that I need this feature) but using the WheelTop app, lets you reconfigure the derailleur to work with 8 through 13 speed cassettes compatible with almost all brands of cassettes.)  Wow! something generic in the world of proprietary shifting systems where the the 3 big boys intentionally change and make your groupset obsolete every few years and you can't mix and match parts between brands, because they "optimize" shifting to one set of specific parts.

- At least to date, the shifting is smooth, fast, and quiet and with only a push of the button.  Side note:  I have been wanting to go electric/wireless for a couple years now because of a right wrist injury and increasing arthritis on the back of my hands that causes sharp pain having to shift standard Mtn bike shift pods)

Time will tell if I still love this product a year from now.

Re: Yishun R086-D Aero Road
I'm interested in this frame but I'm confused.
Like with every other frame, stack is measured without the headset cap and any spacer. I get that.
You do obviously need to use the headset cap plus the cable routing spacer (the one that the stem goes on top of).
But are you sure that these are 60mm in total - 30mm each? That would make this frame's front end taller than any other bike I've used, even if I downsized.

Yishun on the left, Allez on the right.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Hello i'm looking for two bleeding kits, i need one for sram (dot) one for shimano (mineral).

On ali i find the EZMTB-Kit or the WinterZSuffANGRI-Kit.
Are they ok, which one do you recommend, or do you have other solutions?

I have the EZMTB it and it works OK.

Re: SL8 Replica Build
So this thread started with a very satisfied customer and ended with an horror story.

Where is the truth with these frames, are there different sellers who sells different products or are all the sl8 replicas total garbage frames?

As far as i can tell, all bad. https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,5263.0.html
