Re: SL8 Replica Build Hi guys, I have a sl8 clone from yohobike. Had to rework or grind some details, but on the whole it has been inconspicuous and good to ride for a few 100km. The handlebar as a Roval Rapide clone is a bit too flexible, but works well. I also suspect that the sl8 clones all come from the same factory and it depends on the seller whether, for example, the BSA housing or the brake caliper mounts are machined with a milling tool before shipping.
By the way... the original sl8 seatpost fit very well. Had to buy the longer Version.

I already have a short term review I posted a while back of the IIIPro (linked by jonathan above) on my gravel bike compared to the SM-RT64 rotors. I loved them a lot and after scary brake fades that could have killed me on ultegra rotors I decided to get them on my road bike as well. I was a pretty average descender, not very confident before.
Swapping to iiipro was the biggest upgrade I've made to my bike, easily. I feel invincible. They've been tested at 85kmh, down the galibier (top 6% on strava), izoard (top 8%), ballon d'alsace (top 4%) and plenty more. I was a top 30-40% type of descender on ice tech rotors. I might end up on going through a terrone's windshield but I'm not going off the road.
Running them with R8000 rear brake with stock pad and R7100 front with bucklos ceramic pads. High center of gravity, hoods only, no supertuck. Needless to say the rest of my setup could be improved but the rotors alone made a HUGE difference.
They haven't reversed my hairline or brought her back, but they're really impressive. If you are still buying shitmano rotors, what the hell are you doing?

Hello BigApple, could you give me an update on your SL8 clone after a year?
I'm about to buy an SL8 clone frame and I'm undecided between Tantan (TT-X68) and Yohobike.
You said you had to rework/modify some details, could you explain exactly what you did?
Can you confirm that the original SL8 seat post fits the Yohobike clone perfectly?
I ask because I would like to use an original SL8 seatpost and someone told me that the TT-X68 one is different from the original.

They’re noisy, the fine adjustment is very difficult to set up, and the aluminum cogs wear out quite quickly. However, they suggested another alternative that people seem very happy with: a Goldix cassette made entirely of steel.

I bought the 12-speed 11–34T version two days ago and I’m waiting for it to arrive so I can test how it performs on my road bike. I have another Goldix cassette on my gravel bike and, so far, I’m very satisfied with it.

Personally? No.
Reviewers I tend to follow online regularly mention 3 things in regards to carbon spoked wheels.
1. Weight savings
2. Stiffer/harsher ride all things being equal
3. Noticeable impact by crosswinds

He's reliable. Just be sure that Wheeltop will warranty stuff from there or that he will. Wheeltop generally doesn't warranty stuff purchased outside of their official distribution.
