Hey guys, I've ordered this frame and am building with Ultegra 12s Di2. Haven't ordered tires yet. You'll be fine with those pirellis. I run 35mm michelin pro 5 tires on 24mm internal width rims, which measure around 36.5, and they're nowhere near my front derailleur. I have SRAM but the clearance is the same as Shimano.      Final weight is 6,280kg as pictured (but without the Fly bottles)  The build was straight forward. They only issue was the M5 bolt from the seatpost clamp, that I had to switch out with a 5mm shorter one. Fit is not final, need to get lower and a bit longer. There is some weight savings still to make. I liked the "Mixtape" paintjob that Specialized put on some Tarmac SL6 frames, so I wrapped the frameset with vinyl stripes. Not sure if i'll keep it that way, but thats the beauty of vinyl wrap. Did about 550km on it in the last 8 days. It basically rides like a TCR. It just gets the job done without any fuss. There is no buss, no noise at all from the bike, which is quite nice. For the ZEN wheels I'll write something down at the propper place. Not as good as the Newmens, a lot better than the XMCS I've had issues with. May 29, 2026, 02:35:43 AM |

 With the build now complete, the bike weighs 6.68 kg, including the two bottle cages, Garmin mount, and pedals. The Toseek bar appears to come with a split ring. The question is--is it the right one? There are no specs for it, so you need to ask. Just as GravelMaxxer I wonder about the Headset compatibility. I am about to order the FSA N55 Headset (36° inner Camber) and wondered if it will fit the split ring of most generic cockpits from AliX or if they usually use 45° camber instead for their split rings. I have finished my build on the weekend and i am absolutely happy with the bike. The paint is white chameleon gloss and carbon raw UD matte (i guess the darker tinted one). Build went pretty smooth (for the first time) and i would like to thank you all for all the tips and tricks  My only Problem war the FSA Headset being slightly to low so that i had to buy microspacers to get clearance between the head tube and FSA plastic bottom cap. So i had to use 2x0.25mm microspacers. If anyone in Germany has the same problem i have 2 more Spacers left and i can send them somewhere To mount the Di2 Battery i used Armaflex 6mm insulation that i had lying around and stuffed the Battery inside the seatpost, seams like a pretty tight fit and will always be easily removable. Now i am still waiting on some 50mm carbon wheels from serenade but for the meantime i am using some spare DT Swiss wheels (heavy af). I can also recommend the Bikone T47 bottom bracket that seems to be high quality and is the clostest thing to a one piece BB that i could find for way less money. The handlebar is ofc a lightcarbon HBR17 in 380x120mm which is absolutely beautiful in my opinion (especially with the 3D printed titanium alloy garmin mount) but there might be lighter options out there. My Bars came in at around 330 gram + garmin mount + Spacers. I also bought the FSA Spacer Adapter to fit the headset which needed some minor adjustments (2 little holes drilled). I don´t know if they have ever used the adapter themselves but out of the box it doesn´t work  The Giant Seatpost cover is also a nice upgrade, thanks for the tip Here is the whole Part List: -LTK 266 Frame in Size XL -Shimano 105 Di2 -Magene Teo P515 Carbon Crankset -FSA ACR 55r -Bikone T47 internal Dub BB -GP 5000 28mm -old style Dura Ace Brake Rotor 140/140 -Ryet Carbon saddle -Look Keo Blade pedals --> i think thats all Total weight inc. Hi, I am building up my frame and everything went pretty smoothly so far. Only thing I am not completely understanding yet, did everyone in this sub need to cut their steerer tube? I’ve got a FSA acr no55 LS headset, 40mm of spacers, and a 35mm high stem, and there is still like 25mm of steerer tube coming out of my XXL frame. I was assuming upfront that I wouldn’t need to cut my steerer, because it was an XXL frame and I have pretty high stack. Did everyone in this sub cut their steerer? I am wondering if I am doing something wrong as it’s my first bike build. Yeah everyone cut their steerer. Personally, i did it twice -- once by a friend who has built scores of bikes, and then a second time by my local mechanic once I was sure i wanted it fully slammed. July 05, 2026, 06:42:46 AM |

Hey all, I’ve got an update. I ended up solving my issue, I didn’t need the split ring, but needed the Fsa supplied crown race labelled h2630a. It didn’t fit any of the other bearings because it is made for the 45 degree 45 degree bearing, which is only included in the FSA ACR no55 Low stack version. The pictures on the internet of that headset have two of the same MR127 36 45 bearings, but with the LS version, there is 1 TH MR127 bearing, and 1 TH MR261A bearing. You need to use the MR127 bearing between fork & frame, and the MR261A bearing on the top, then you use the H2630A part, and then the FSA cover, spacers, (adapter), stem. Now I can finally start the rest of the assembly Just to avoid future confusion here. The assembly sequence is correct. Part H2630 is called a compression ring (C-Ring) or split ring. It looks like the release of this groupset is imminent. It recently made a debut on the Twitter x7 bike and I found a rebadged version on Google called "whaleroad r7" - https://www.mywhaleroad.com/ IMHO this is the funniest name a chinese brand has come up with so far

Both similar in weight and price and 32 internal ... any major difference in the brand and product quality / dependability ? Personnaly I would go for Tagoola. Matter is top for communication and after sale. I have never been disappointed with their wheelset. July 17, 2026, 08:21:42 AM |
