My 58 size bike is assembled. I was worried that maybe frame will be small. I am 192cm tall and my inseam is 90cm. Seat post is not even half way up so this size should also fit taller riders than me. Can’t wait for a nice dry day to test it out. December 18, 2025, 04:18:59 PM |

![]() My finished built LC018-D weighing in at 8.050kg with pedals (but before the bar tape was fitted). Not built to be particularly light weight, but just to do long endurance miles. I asked LC to paint the frame Ferrari Red with no graphics, but when I got it, I felt it looked a bit bare without anything, so I named the bike Hardknott after my favourite cycling pass in the Lake district. (If you know it, you'll know why!). So far, I have only done about 200km which is enough time to say it's comfortable to ride, but certainly not the fastest bike I've ever ridden. The frame feels stiff enough for my power output, despite the internal storage. I have not suffered any seatpost clamping issues, but since my post is painted, the extra paint thickness added may take up some slack. The build process went smoothly. This was my first full bike build and I found the internal routing not to be an issue. The only issue I faced was paint over spray on the front caliper mount which I carefully removed with a scalpel. I suspect that the rear caliper mount is not 100% flat and so the rear caliper sits a fraction off true. For this I will be taking the bike to a bike shop to face the mounting properly. Otherwise, I cannot fault the LC frame. The external part of Di2 cable for the front derailleur needed to be routed carefully with an extra anchoring point to avoid touching the tyre. Finally received my size 56 frame in raw carbon .Put it on the scale and not on the light side but not a big issue for me : Frame size 56 with the front derailleur mount + storage door 1209g Fork 424g Handlebar 306g (90 length - 400 wide) 0 offset seatpost 193g Big fan of the glossy raw carbon finish. Started to mount it but I noticed that the rear axle doesn't screw freely as it should be : I mean I can't turn it easily by hand (for the front axle I don't have the issue). I can for sure screw it with an allen key (but I can feel a little resistance). When I remove the UDH hanger to screw the axle outside of the bike I can screw it by hand without problem. I assume there should be a small misalignment between the holes in the frame (where the front axle goes) that may explain that. Does somebody noticed this ? Finally, after delays my frame and bits have arrived. My 52 in raw clear with door was 1042g I’ll weigh the fork once it’s cut I have a few Cervelos from the past few years, so they’re really the direct comparison. But I also build bikes for people so I have experience with a lot of the main brands. It’s a well built and finished frame set. The overall fit and finish is very high regardless of price. Sure, there are a few bits I’ll change immediately like the compression bung and headset bearings, but that’s to be expected. I’d do that on pretty much any frame. I did that on the cervelos too. The BB was nicely cut and a SRAM dub freely screws in by hand, and the wheel axles align perfectly. I want to address a few points since I now have the bike in front of me. 1. The door opening - staying closed. I’m pretty sure this is’nt the bolt on the back needing to be tightened. I think that’s actually making the situation worse as it’s the little nub on the top that holds the latch closed. As this is worn away by frequent opening/ closing it gets worn away and loose. Tightening the bolt would wear this out more quickly allowing it to rattle open. Im not sure how this can be fixed. Leave it with me. ![]() 2. The saddle rail bolts are a bit of a silly design but most of my hex keys allow it to be adjusted. I’m swapping the bolts to shallow headed stainless steel bolts to see if that helps. The hex size is also reduced from M5 to M4 so the hex key is physically slimmer which also helps. I’m not 100% convinced these bolts will take the torque, but there is only one way to find out. That little nub isn’t on the v1, so this must be the “fix”. I can’t understand why they are fighting gravity to keep the damn thing closed, surely it would make much more sense to have the latch closed in the bottom position, making it much harder for it to become loose. The bolt holding the lever in place is a strange one. It goes from loose to uncloseable with one quarter turn of tightness. I’ve tried putting some thread lock on my v1 just to try and make the thing useable, but I’m pretty fed up with it. Hopefully the new “nub” on the v2 does its job and keeps everything tight.
