Hello everyone, I’ve been reading your posts since August, and today I finally decided to write for the first time. I went ahead and bought the bike frame from Tan Tan because I was really curious to see how good such an affordable frame could be and whether it was actually worth it or not. Now i can share my feedback with you guys. As of today, I’ve already done about 1,200 km with the bike, and I can say that I’m very happy with it. My previous bike was a Specialized SL7 Pro, and honestly, I like the TT-X68 much more — it feels faster and lighter than my old SL7. The only thing that has me a little concerned is cornering. I’ve seen some users complain about how it handles in curves, and I’ve noticed the same. I’m not a great descender, but it’s true that I find it a bit unstable — as if the steering were softer?? I don’t know if it’s because I was used to the stiffness of the Roval Rapide handlebar on the SL7 or if it’s due to the fork, but that’s the only thing that doesn’t fully convince me! ( i have the newer version of the fork, the heavy one). Maybe it’s not just the handlebar but the whole change of bike setup, since now I’m also riding with a wider rim at lower pressure (4,6 bar front ), and maybe everything adds up. Anyway, I’m thinking about changing the handlebar for a stiffer one without spending too much money. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks! Hi, just small reminder: keep in mind that many Varia holder (3D prints) will crack or brake after some time, unless they include some glass fibers. 3D itself does not stand so well all the vibrations. Just a couple of things in case any of you want to build a light X68. The Hy carbon seatpost from Ali works on my frame. Just a small piece of 3m frame protector where the clamp grabs and carbon paste, seatpost hasn't moved. Around 60g savings from original post and can be setup for 0 offset And a revelation was the Ryet ultralight full carbon saddle advertised at 58g that came at 60. It is a copy of the Gelu for £60. 240x122mm and super comfy. I'm coming from a Selle Italia SLR Boost Kit Carbonio superflow at 130 width and no problems at all even in long hours on the saddle. Also Ryet 5.8g carbon bottle cage. Yes, the bottle slides in easily, but never rattles or dropped a bottle Bike can be built lighter if replacing all bolts to Ti. I only done the most functional ones. Final weight all in 6.2Kg Regarding the frame in general all is working well and no problems to report June 08, 2026, 04:53:23 AM |

I'm looking on both the TanTan and the Seraph websites, and I'm not seeing a UDH version of the TT-X68 frameset - where are you seeing this ? If you guys are referring to my post "DO NOT RECOMMEND" its nothing about the quality. Its about the straight up lies about delivery and timelines to get the customer in the door. I’ve bought two x68s, first one showed up in what I would say was fairly acceptable amount of time. That was just for the standard white no decals version. I ordered a second one that was the Patrick Lino special. It was the sky blue color with the silver Seraph graphics. That one took about a month longer (just over three months) and they forgot to put the graphics on but packed the graphics/decals in the box and I had to put them on doing water transfer and then clearcoat afterward. It’s definitely hit and miss or maybe easier to say buyer beware as the issues have been documented in multiple locations on this forum. The Specialized SL9 launch is straight out of the Apple playbook. Every two years, it’s the exact same script: they shave off some grams, change a tube shape and save a couple of watts, call it a 'revolutionary breakthrough,' and the fanboys lose their minds and rush to pre-order. Yes I lost my Mind  But I don't have to pay full RRP I sell my old bike and with a scheme through my employer in the UK I pay next to nothing for a new frame basically the new SL9 will cost me £411.85 I have done this since the Venge. The quality and functionality of a frame is not so much its shape as the materials used and the workmanship, and there's a difference of day and night between the SL8 and the X68. If many consider (as I've read in this forum) these two frames remotely comparable, it's only because they use the bike for amateur purposes (like me). Sorry, but I also need to comment this post... We will all NEVER know what exact performance you can get out of SL8 and X68. It can simply be due to personal oppinion / feeling (which is not relevant) OR because we do not know X68 numbers OR we are simply shit riders that can't even use full potential of bikes. I would also like to hear your arguments comparing X68 to SL8 as day and night. In what ? how do you back this comparisson up with some non-personal facts? If we blindfold you, and put you on X68 with S-works stickers...are you sure you would reckognize which bike is it? =) So, there are many of us that can absolutelly agree that X68 frame (700 USD) and SL8 (4-5K€) is more than comparable with ride feel.
