Re: TanTan GR257. 57mm clearance, UDH hanger, storage box etc just released.
It's basically the same frame as the Mondince FM346 (except for the seat tube shape/profile, but the geo chart is the same), discussed in this topic: https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,7193.0.html This TanTan frame was also mentioned here: https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,7298.0.html June 16, 2026, 05:14:33 AM |

My build
So here is my experience building my velobuild aero gravel bike. It is my second bike build this year, the firs one was a LightCarbon lcr017. My satisfaction is in reference to the LightCarbon build. The order went well with Chris. I build the bike with wheeltop gex groupset. Serenade wheels (28 internal with matte marble finish). Cassette, pedals, rotors, and crankset with power meter all from AliExpress. I love the paintjob! It came without stem spacers which was not a problem because I chose a size with the stack I needed without any spacers but could be problematic for others. As other experienced, I struggled a lot with the headset. The one piece expander plug sucks ass. I wasn't able to compress the bearing enough and get rid of the fork slack. I got back to Chris and he wasn't much of an help. So I ordered a two piece deda style expander plug. I was able to compress the bearing but now the dust cap was touching the frame. Again Chris wasn't too bothered. I ordered micro spacers to put between the compression ring and the dust cap. It solved my issue. Thanks to this forum and you guys! It solved my problem for a moment at least... I just come back from a gnarly gavel ride and the fork created a slack again. A bolt on the stem was a little loose. I hope it's only that. I put some carbon paste on the steerer tube and tighten everything up again. I hope everything will stay tight. If not I'll put locktite on the stem bolts. This issue created a chip on the paint on top of the headtube. The build was significantly more conplicated than with my LightCarbon build. Only by the headset, I can see that Lightcarbon is a big step ahead in quality control and attention to details. The compression ring can move independently from the dust cap and micro shim. The facing of the caliper mount is not as well done as in my LightCarbon also. I Was also disappointed that the handlebar had no flare at all. A little strange for a gravel bike. I was able to fit thunder burt 2.1 without any issue. I pushed over 1000 watt and no rubbing. There is about 2mm clearance on each side at the rear. Overall if the fork can stay tight and without slack I'll be happy. The price is right. June 30, 2026, 02:22:35 PM |

I just pulled the trigger on a GR257. Having them build it with a di2 groupset, custom paint, no wheels (will use Elite wheelset), custom paint. Will let you know how it all goes. July 29, 2026, 09:23:25 AM |

Looks like they don't make 61, same as mondince size 61(XXL) is now offered by meiner https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/1005012861779650.html It has a slightly different seat clamp design August 26, 2026, 04:14:24 AM |

Re: Velobuild AERO GRAV Frame
Recieved mine two weeks after ordering in Belgium. Zero issues. Sanded down the brake points with 60 grit but don't know if it was necessary. I wish I had read the instructional videos for SRAM Rival direct mount though. Don't just use common knowledge from normal derailleurs, you will fail ![]() Still waiting for my custom decals to arrive, but I already feel sorry I chose icecrack white because it's more silvergrey than white. The paintjob is more than good enough though. I fitted one microshim underneath the stem but I don't think i had to, there was no rub. Shortened the steerer tube for the testride, but will shorten a bit more later. 8.1kg without pedals, size L. Rival 1x13 Kocvelo carbon saddle (prologo 143 design) Integrated cockpit velobuild 400/90 Fake supacaz handlebar tape Ali plastic bottle cages Assioma Uno pedals elitewheels Aero + 45/31 wheels with 50mm terra hardpacks. Measure 53mm and I have 4mm all around, so ample clearance. August 28, 2026, 01:51:02 AM |

Re: Velobuild AERO GRAV Frame
What kind of computer mount fits to the integrated handle bar? Is it a 2- or 3-bolt mount? 2 bolt like the kocelvo put front mount. It's kinda crap ngl August 29, 2026, 04:33:32 AM |
