Re: Recommendations for integrated handlebar?
I have that kocevelo bar/stem, in 380x80mm. Have about 500km on it so far on my velobuild 099. The inner steerer surface was painted and wouldn't fit on the velobuild steerer tube. So I had to dremel/sand down the inside a tiny bit so it would fit nicely. Not sure if they're all like that or it was just a bad combination of generous tolerances from vb and kocevelo. It came with a variety of plastic spacers and headset pieces. Was a little tricky for cable routing but every one of these combo bars is. Alright, I have finished the build with some hick-ups but nothing major. - A brake disc that is not truly straight, when these AliExpress things don't work I but better ones, like the Galfer ones. - The screw for the seat post wedge was destroyed, so had to put a temporary other one, correct one is coming. - The Elite Drive wheels are the D65 and I ordered the 6 bolts, but I didn't read the FAQ good enough so it came with an adapter and I thought it was designed for 6 bolts, now it's center lock with an adapter. - The Lexon Crankset was too tight and didn't run smoothly and freely so I had to get the spacers and pre-load ring out and it worked, without any play on the spindle or crankarms. Posted this in the Lexon crankset thread. - I had the el cheapo brake hoses from Wheeltop which I replaced with Magura Kevlar brake hoses, with no problem, and everything went smoothly through the frame and handlebar. It's 7.3 kg in the picture, with a 1x setup so no front derailleur of 206 grams and an extra chain ring, including Speedplay paddles. It is without the computer, sensors & computer holder, bottle cages, and bar tape, radar light and mount, then it will be around 7,5 kg. September 26, 2024, 09:38:45 AM |

Hi everyone, I’ve been a silent reader here until now, but I got lucky and managed to pick up this frame through the forum. That meant I could make a quick switch from my Rose Pro SL 2020. The build was super straightforward — I was able to transfer all my components except for the bottom bracket. The only minor headache at the moment is the seat clamp and a slipping seatpost, but I’ve tackled it with tape, carbon paste, and Loctite. We’ll see over the next few days if it holds. On 32 mm tires, the frame feels both fast and comfortable, and it’s a clear step up from my old aluminum frame (which, to be fair, never gave me any trouble either). I’m curious to see how it performs over the coming months, but so far I’m really happy with it. On my first interval and sweet spot ride, I set quite a few PRs on mostly flat roads. The frame feels super agile, yet completely stable and confidence-inspiring on fast descents. Big thanks to this awesome forum! Hi here to share my ecperience with a complete bike from tantan/seraph as I havent found any on this platform so far. Communication was over whatsapp, quite good sometimes i had to ask multiple times when i asked multiple questions just one was answered but overall good. First contact was 20.3. I wanted it with ltwoo but just went with regular wheeltop order placet 26.3. The bike was in stock on the website but the wheelset still neded to be made (he said shipping in 15-25 days) I got the QC Photos/shpping number on 28.4. arrived at local carrier in germany on the 15.5. and at my door at 16.5. So longer than expextet but still okish i guess. Product came packed really nice no worries there, Casette not installed, handlebar dangling on the lines. (see pictures) I build the bike up today so far really really impressed. I mean this bike is like 1000€ cheaper than when you build your bike up on your own out of china and the quality really blew me away. The only thing is that one bolt for the seatclamp was missing but i reacon i can find a replacement. The only thing that worries me a bit are the weels. they are really true yes, but the spoke tension is quite uneven from my first check. I guess time will tell. the supplied Conti(probably fake idk) didnt seat right but i put on my STRs everything fine. crankset/BB was pre greased. I have some random parts that i cant identify really, i made a picture probably some of you know. I got 2 nice carbon bottle cages and a plastic out front mount so that is fixed ig, but not carbon unfortunatly. (it was a problem the the carbon computer mount was to flexi, the plastic one definitly isnt.) Gonna do a follow up post. Ask you questions or what pictures you want. it's been amost 10 years since my last TanTan frame build, but I see that they have not changed. The recommendation is the same as 10 years ago: do not buy from them. I assume that reading threads like this biases you a lot. Those people who don't have any issues with their frames don't post here. I have finished my build this week and so far I am very impressed. The carbon quality seems to be very good. The assembly process was quite hard for me, because I have never asseembled a whole bike before and I had to face some issues. For example the output holes for the brake hoses in the handlebar were too small. So I made them bigger with my girlfriend's electric nail file  And I had a few minor problems with the expander and this crazy centering ring because of my own silliness. Any updates? I don’t know if this question was for me but.. First ride done, no major issues other than the seatpost slipping but I didn’t apply carbon paste yet so I did now. I was happy with the comfort of the bike, because after a few years only 40mm+ tyres I was a little bit scared for a harsh ride but I was surprised even with the 30mm tyres and carbon spokes. Other than that I don’t know what to report can’t really comment on the layup it felt fine I guess  not too stif or flexible.

Received my new wheels yesterday and took them for a fun test ride this evening. I love them, they feel great! Very planted and not harsh at all, mind you I don’t have much experience with carbon road bike wheels but they feel better than the KORE wheels I used before them. They gave me a lot of confidence in the corners and felt very comfortable. The only thing that’s left are the new bars and then it’s finished! August 14, 2026, 02:24:15 PM |
