Re: Carbonda FM909
I was talking to Carbonda Adam via Skype. He usually responds very soon. Rear boost OLD is a bit too wide, measured as 150.0mm, wheel ends goes beyond its slot, a bit annoying when i put. Ride is good. not as nimble as EPIC FS but decending fast. it is not that stiff but not feeling major flex. June 09, 2021, 03:56:45 AM |

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
Not sure if I can include this here or not! I was looking to buy an FM936 but then this barely used Vitus came up on eBay at a great price. I added some of my carbon parts (ElitaOne post, Romin Pro, Deda bar, Uno stem) plus set up my Conti tyres (2.4 X Cross RaceSport & 2.2 Race King Protection) tubeless. Have since removed the lock outs as I never used them. My old XTR pedals blew up on a test ride so awaiting a Zeray set and also a Fovno Ghost. Even as it stands the bike is 11.1kg for a size small which I think is pretty great for a £1,500 buy! Nice bike! I've been lurking for a while now absorbing all of this great information. Can I ask how tall you are? I'm trying to decide whether I should buy a medium or small. August 13, 2021, 11:11:23 PM |

Re: Chinese Carbon 29er Pic Thread.
My FM986. apologies for blurry photo, and partly broken garden etc...I'll get better pics soon when out on it. built from stuff transferred off the main xc hardtail. it's quite a mix. Sid forks, non boost 120mm solo air, well, I say SID. Sid crown and internals, Reba 15mm lowers. 46mm offset sidLuxe rear, manual lockout as I was sent the wrong one and can't be bothered sending it back to spain! RF Aeffect cranks, Unite 34T chainring, XT 10 spd rear mech, SRAM GX 11 speed gripshift, 11-36 10 spd cassette, think it's a SLX. Chain is a clarks self lubricating, which as far as I can tell just means it's slotted. Xt M785 brakes, 180F shimano 6 bolt rotor, 160R 6 bolt rotor wheels are: Front, novatec on DT x392 with a mix of ACI DB and Dt DB spokes, as that's what I had at the time. green alloy nipples... Rear, Bitex 106R centrelock hub, 142x12 with Mt Zoom boost adapter, ACI DB spokes on Stans Crest rim. Nobby nic tyres, both 2.25. Bontrager Rhythm Elite seatpost, Selle San Marco SKN saltire edition saddle. cheap green seat clamp Token headset load of spacers from my shed. Sunline 70mm stem Niner carbon flat bars 720mm x 8deg Odi Longneck grips. cheap purple bell. probably weighs about 24-25lb, havent got the scales out yet. Quick up and down the road and it rides very light, accelerates quick despite being quite active. not a pimp build, but a functional one. October 11, 2021, 10:13:32 AM |

Re: 29er XC Hardtail - Boost - Modern Geometry
I ended up getting the Trifox. It does have 3 ports in the headtube, allowing for the internal dropper cable. Overall, the quality is v good. I weighted the bare large frame at 912 grms. Supplied seatpost is rubbish, a good bit less than 30.9, so loose in the frame and slipped during 1st ride. Dropper in there now. The rear brake threads were tight, and I needed to add washers to the caliper bolt as the hole in the frame was not that deep. The rear derailleur exit port was poor. I needed to dremel out the insert so I could feed in the outer casing. I got the 740mm trifox flat bars, seem good quality and I weighed them at 152 grms. Threaded BB is nice, 73mm so no spacers required. 2.35 maxxis tyres fit fine with good clearance. The rest of the build was XT/SLX mix. Wheels are ztto microspline hubs with carbonbearm rims. 1450 grms. Snail china xtr chainring copy is nice. November 17, 2021, 11:36:34 AM |

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
Yesterday, I noticed the drive side BB bearings seized While removing the BB, some accumulated water went out. I drilled a 2mm hole at the lowest point of the frame, to let the water flow out, hopefully to make the bearings last longer. February 24, 2022, 03:43:39 PM |
