Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Got mine built. Came in about 25.5 lbs, 11.6 kg.


Build basics- large SL frame, Fox Float DPS, 120 Sid Ultimate, BTLOS 27 w/ 240 EXP, Giant carbon bars, Uno stem, Race Face Turbine Dropper,  XTR shifter, derailer and cassette,  MT900 cranks, Chiner seat and pedals, Maxxis Ardent.

Initial Impressions
HTA measures about 66.5 degrees, about 75 for the STA
Bottom bracket is low, about 3/4" lower than my Evil Following MB, not hitting my pedals much, but definitely aware
Rides great, climbs like a mountain goat and feels about the same as the Following going down
Very flickable and playful
Really fun ride

Re: Help selecting crankset Have you google "determine crankarm length"?

The typical recommendations are based on your height. Since its a 52mm frame, most likely you want 165mm, but 170mm might be ok too. The difference does not matter much in reality. Although too long can cause knee issues.

Rear boost OLD is a bit too wide, measured as 150.0mm, wheel ends goes beyond its slot, a bit annoying when i put.

Ride is good. not as nimble as EPIC FS but decending fast. it is not that stiff but not feeling major flex.

Re: Carbonda FM909 Before going in hyperbole, just remember you are your own importer when buying frames.
It is not a shop you get immediately what you buy.
And sometimes no small patience is required.
Add to this the cultural difference, and there is room for plenty of misunderstanding.
Carbonda is generally a great company to deal with, but glitches may happen everywhere.

The decals/logo are my own design and I painted the frame at home myself: 3 coats of Dupi-Color Special Effex metallic paint and 3 coats of Spray Max 2K clearcoat. Wanted a little sparkle and protection while maintaining the "raw carbon" showing through.

The Hyper 65 wheels are intended for my Winspace T1500, but these will do until my other wheels arrive.

7.8kg without the PowerTap P2 pedals

As always, your sizing mileage may vary depending on your specific measurements. Trek suggest a 54cm for me but I'd take a 50cm or 47cm.

I was being a bit facetious. I’m 6 feet tall myself, and typically take a 54 or 56 depending on the reach.

Re: Velobuild 177: Gap between fork and headtube? You do not need the metal crown race, as it's already built into the fork during the mold process. There might be some contention as to whether or not to use it, but it's obvious from the photo it doesn't fit.

For what it's worth...my Winspace T1500, Dengfu R12, and VB 177 all did not need the crown race. I even double checked with my local bike shop just to be certain before making any steer tube cuts.

However, my Yeoleo G21 did need the extra crown race and I was able to close the gap to the headtube.
