Re: Pro-mance M7007 II Build (9000 g/19.84 lb)
Yes, Kerschbaumer's bike is a Hongfu 258 with some paint. After some research, I pretty much built up a top-end version of his bike after seeing some pics of the Torpado Matador. Think it's 9.4kg. And, yes, you can indeed mount the shock upside down like on his bike. It took me a while to realise that mind you! Did half a season on it in Irish xc national races and got on pretty well. First time racing a full suss in years of racing. Still needs some tweaks though, the saddle feels WAY far back when pedaling due to the strange seat tube angle. Thoughts on this??? Also, I changed the stem to a 80mm with a normal angle. The other yoke in the pic was tricky to control with the downward angle. Excuse the crappy quality pics November 15, 2019, 12:27:48 PM |

Re: Pro-mance M7007 II Build (9000 g/19.84 lb)
Very nice, but let me ask you why are you riding a medium frame being 182cm tall? No wonder you are using a 100mm stem

Re: 29er XC Hardtail - Boost - Modern Geometry
Given that a 34 SC has an A-C of 530mm, and the listed geometry of the LCM908 is with a 490mm A-C, it will change significantly with either a 100mm or 120mm fork. They are using the equivalent of an 80mm 29er fork for their geo; those aren’t even in production anymore. I.e., that 69.5 degree HTA becomes a 67.5 degree HTA with a 120 up front. Re: Workswell wcb-m-145 / wcb-m-299
I do not have experience with the wcb-m-145 or 299 but i have owned the wcb-m-062. I raced the Frame for 3 Years before the right Chainstay snapped. Both Frames are sold by 2 german Brands: RaceXtract and BQ-Cycles. I Know a few guys which ride the Frames of those Brands without any issues. September 09, 2021, 10:58:05 AM |

Re: Workswell disaster
Yeah at that price point you’d expect a better product or at least more support. Sorry you got hosed. Enjoy that Orbea!

Re: Workswell disaster
That's interesting. They clearly are OEM for various brands (niche, probably), because sometimes they will quote you for a frame for 1 country, but not another, unless you ship to another country and so on, or will have a MOQ of 5 or 10 frames. Clearly there are exclusivity clauses at play. They're also quite expensive even if ordering 5 or more frames. All i could get out of them was "we use Japanese carbon fiber and it's more expensive". Ofc they claim they are really good at quality, but find me a shop that says they arent. Point being, i never worked with them because the frame would always end up costing 50+% more, and emailing with them is always like pulling teeth, i never got the impression that they wanted my business. Maybe they just low key suck and charge more for no reason. March 05, 2024, 12:11:00 PM |

Supersix / Soloist / Addict lookalikes in 32C in 2024?
Men of culture, My next road bike is probably going to look like that (I want something for the mountains), with c.50mm wheels. Pictured, Cannondale supersix, Rose Xlite & Rose Reveal (endurance), latest Giant propel (so skinny now...), Cervelo soloist (nothing burger), Scott addict (nothing burger). Ironically (?), i think my favourite here is between the supersix & the Rose Xlite. Question: what are the Chinese options for similar frames? I want something that takes 32C. Thanks! PS: really feels like we've reached peak bike, one really needs a trained eye to tell bikes apart... March 21, 2024, 04:43:37 AM |

Re: Workswell disaster
we have purchased a triathlon frame from them...we ran into a very dangerous issue with the aluminium stem..which basically broke during an indoor session, luckily...the complete handlebars snapped of due to the broken stem. After checking the stem, it shows it was just a design flaw... It took us a long time to get a new stem, which is now looking a bit stronger. Never did workswell inform us about this dangerous design nor did they send it for free......a seat post issue could not been handled,we were told, they would not produce this frame anymore...(after 2 years ). It was just luck, that the broken stem did not cause a major injury or accident. If the bikes and or parts would have beend tested on those fancy machines they claim to test the parts, this would have shown up after a day..there where 350 km on the bike when this happened.. so, we stepped away from them after this issue.. Re: Looking for best frame brand
I've also been looking for the stiffest lightest most aero comfortable endurance frame with 60mm clearance for cheap. Let me know when you find it
