Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
The new LCFS947 is HUGE!!!!! And with 51mm offset on the Lyrik form its even longer. I have never ridden something like this, its going to be very interesting and exciting.

The tire clearance is ok. Here is a image with 2.6" Continental Trail King on 30 mm rim. The chainstay protector is from Nukeproof, that I modified to fit. March 26, 2021, 08:03:35 AM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
I stripped and repainted a Carbon genius. I used Spraymax 2K epoxy primer. I don't think I would use anything but this. Color coats by Montana Gold, 2K clear again from Spraymax. The 2k prime and clear products are the important part. The color coat could be whatever you wish. March 29, 2021, 05:39:45 PM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
I'm curious what your plan is for frame prep. I've ordered colors from spray.bike for my frame and am planning to just wet sand then paint like you mentioned. Update on the captive nuts: the carbon cracks immediately on loosening the pivot bolts, light carbon has told me they'll send me replacement seat stays. If they're the same design I'll probably end up machining new nuts with 6mm heads so I don't rely on the carbon anytime I want to disassemble the rear triangle. April 01, 2021, 11:30:39 AM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
The bike is almost finished. A chain and some adjustments left before I can test-ride it. I am happy that I choose a 120 mm dropper for the size L frame. Im 184 cm tall and it would not have worked with a higher dropperpost.

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
Hey all I'm the one who had that issue with the linkage bolts, LightCarbon is sending me replacement seat stays under warranty with their fix. Wendy mentioned something about making the nuts captive so they can't move in the housing on the seat stays. Can't comment on how it'll work yet as I haven't received the replacements so far. I did end up finishing the build anyway just to see what it looks like while I wait for those replacements. I went with spray.bike for the paint and did it myself. May 18, 2021, 07:57:02 PM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
I did say it'd be a sloow build. Just had it wrapped. May 20, 2021, 04:35:58 AM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
Nice thanks, you're looks great! Hmm so I guess the hardware is correct but it is isn't a perfect design. I filed down the little smushed part and it seems to be working normally. Here's a picture of it: Gonna try to find some plastic washers or something to stick between so the bushing doesn't slide out again. Although I also don't want it to be rubbing against the frame all the time. July 11, 2021, 06:49:38 PM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
Added some nylon washers to hopefully prevent the mounting hardware getting messed up again. Ordered a set on Amazon, ended up using M12s, and had to file down the inner diameter to get them to fit. July 16, 2021, 09:24:49 AM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
SimonPeaime: the chainstay protector that you are using seems to fit the frame perfectly. Are you happy with it and do you mind sharing model/brand and where you got it? BTW, my frame now has about 1k miles on it with not issue. I'm a happy camper! July 23, 2021, 02:16:36 AM |
