Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread! I have a fox 36 fork at 150 mm and a fox dpx 2 (also 150 mm with the given spec). I am about to order a shimano xt 1x12 groupset for the drivetrain but literally the only thing holding back (as a first time bike builder) is whether or not to order a bottom bracket, and if not, if this groupset will be compatible with the provided bb. If anyone knows, please lmk!

I'm not sure which i'd prefer more, lol.  Getting a tracking number and impatiently waiting for it to get here, or just one day a big box on the door step?

I would prefer the tracking so I can be at home the day it arrives, had my fair share of stolen packages sadly

Do you think the Sram Dub will be as good as the shimano? I'm probably buying the Sram GX Eagle Carbon crankset.

I have a pf92 sram dub on my Commencal right now, so far so good , no creaks

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread! Fork - 2021 Fox 36 Factory Grip2 150mm w/ Kashima coating in matte black
Shock - Fox DPX2 210x55mm (takeoff from a stumpjumper evo)
Handlebars - Enve M6 25mm rise x 780mm length
Stem- Salsa Guide 40mm
Drivetrain - Shimano SLX M7100
Chainring - Absolute black 32T oval chainring
Cranks - Shimano SLX 165mm
Chain - KMC gold chain
Seatpost - Oneup 180mm dropper (still deciding on this one), not sure how deep of a dropper the frame can fit, and also may get a kashima fox transfer to match the fork if I can find a good second hand deal.
Brakes - SRAM Code R
Rotors - haven't decided yet but im thinking 200mm front and back if the frame can accommodate it.
Saddle - Charge Spoon brown saddle
Grips - Deity knucklebuster gum color
Wheels - some cheap aluminum ($300) specialized wheelset that was a takeoff from a stumpjumper with shimano hubs
Crown spacer - whatever 6mm is in stock when im building
Headset - Oneup EDC v2
Pedals - Raceface Chester mint color, although these may clash, and i may go for black in the end or the deity bronze pedals
Tires - Maxxis Minion DHR II front and back with gum color sidewalls, 2.4 in back and 2.6 up front.

Got the frame and fork in matte black; going for a matte black, brown, and gold color scheme. I think it should look very tasteful.

... and I can relate the anticipation is killing me!

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread!
Just joined the forum, ordering an AM 831, they promise reasonable shipping time; we will see.
What I don't understand is why it looks like many people ordered the frame but apparently nobody has received it or reviewed it; so I'm buying blind, the frame is cheaper than a branded one but not cheap in absolute. 9 years ago I bought an hardtail frame and I'm still using it and I'm satisfied; full suspension has much more mechanics and things that could be wrong.
finger crossed...

It is because they haven't been manufactured yet. As far as I can tell front triangles are done, but there was an issue with the rear and they are fixing it before sending the frames out.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy Thread! Keeping the hype up as there's nothing to do other than comment and wait right now.

Ordered some ZTTO goodies for the frame as a lot of people on the forum had good things to say about the company

- ZTTO Chain Guide
- ZTTO BB92 Threaded cup bottom bracket
- ZTTO dropper seat post lever
- ZTTO Ice Rotor 203mm

I've ordered a couple de tools that I wanted as the same times (hanger aligment tools, internal routing,BB socket, hydrolic needle tool)

Still debatting what wheelset I'll put on it

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy Thread! Dear All:

Really sorry for the dealying of the shipping.
We must keep the frame in perfect quality so the production being a little long the expecting.
Now size S being done and painted, so the guys who ordered S would be first to got the frame first.
Then one by one, and we would keep you informed the picture of the painting and the shipping date also the tracking number.
Now the groupbuy price have been ended, USD699/set excluded the shipping fee is the price for the sample order.

Many thanks for your supporting and understanding.
And we are always here, so any question feel free to contact me by email, since sometimes i will missed the message on forums.

Thanks
Haideli Eddy.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy Thread! If your bike hasn't been produced yet I think you are still on time to change your mind. Any news from the small size guys?Frame on the way or not yet?
By coincidence I also ordered a kind of matte orange; I don't care what santa cruz does.
