Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Do you have a link to the Chinese Ti Speed Play pedals you're using? Do you recomend them?I bought these pedals https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005002304240956.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.25176c37RuykzV For the moment, I need to try them more and to lapp them, because currently it's really difficult to clip on August 16, 2021, 01:03:12 PM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
That bar looks nice, however I don't think you're able to route the cables down through the headset spacers and in to the frame, is that right? I have the dengfu bar that came with my r12. Its stiff, comparable to oz cycles flex test of his yoeleo bars. $110. Getting an all in one is $80 from ali so you should pay the extra $30 for a two year warranty and guaranteed quality. Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
I'm all for losing weight and am trying to do it as much as possible with my 168, however there is no way I'd trust such a small and light expander on a carbon steerer tubed fork, especially for the sake of 30g of weight saving. Thanks for your comments OlieSimpson October 12, 2021, 01:05:06 PM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Checking in after 1917km logged on Strava. Everything is still solid. There's no issue whatsoever.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Inspired by your post. Bike check after 2,449.7 Km. So far so good. A couple part changes after the initial build: - Changed saddle from Specialized Power to a lightweight carbon EC90 model with cut out ~90g (thanks for the review @Carbonazza). Surprisingly comfortable although it has no padding. Not sure if it fits my sit bones like it should but enjoying the weight savings. As a 90Kg rider I feel well supporter on it. Considering putting it on my VB GF01 gravel bike as well https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32921891894.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4ddf4c4dsNjPl5 - Installed a LTWOO UT OSPW. Was concerned about the unsealed ceramic bearings and planned on changing them to regular sealed bearings as soon as I could but they seem to be sealed a bit better than I thought. Haven't spun them after my first somewhat wet road ride yesterday so we'll see how much grime got into them. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003009824917.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4ddf4c4dsNjPl5 On my last ride I noticed quite a bit of flex on my HB01 bars. I think this was in part due to the bar wedge tightening piece becoming a bit loose but also may need to bring down the bars a bit more so they grip more of the fork steerer, or the bars just have too much flex period. Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
First Impressions video is live. VeloBuild also sent me an EPS latex molding of the frame, as well as a broken down cut up carbon frame to inspect the insides of the frame. I discuss this in the video. Pretty cool! December 23, 2021, 09:16:30 AM |

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
Hi guys, thank you for all your advice, here is finally my bike mounted. Very happy final weight:7 kg pedals. Two exits the first two hours per setup, the second over 4 hours and a drop 1600 meters, excellent sensations. January 16, 2022, 09:45:34 AM |

Re: Electronic devices
How are your Magene P325 CS cranks doing? Would you still recommend them? I'm looking for a new set of cranks with a power meter for my VB-R-168 at the moment and they're at the top of my list. Left side crank arm works fine for over two years. Change the battery from time to time and that's it. The right side spider sensor stopped working for me after a bit more than 12 months. Seems to be a problem with the integrated rechargeable battery. Loads very quickly and does not last longer than 10min anymore. I guess the Li-ion battery was damaged or a problem with the charger electronics. January 23, 2022, 03:58:08 AM |

I got them during the kickstarter for the Sub 300 usd price tag, I 100% reccomend them. I really like the. Spot on compared to my elite turbo trainer. They've been flawless I have to say, follow the instructions and you'll be grand. January 24, 2022, 04:36:01 AM |
