Re: New Enduro Frame FS830
If any of the frame manufacturers read these forums, WE WOULD LIKE SHORTER SEAT TUBES TO RUN LONGER DROPPERS!

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Can anyone confirm the rear shock mounting hardware? 8x30 and 8x22.?Measured 22.8 and 30.3mm. The front mount will be less precise as it is a painted surface. Thinking of using 21.85mm needle bearing and 0.5mm spacers x2. https://www.enduroforkseals.com/products/rear-suspension/shock-eyelet-bearing-kits/6mm-8mm-thru-bolts/NEEDLE-BEARING-21.85.html September 07, 2021, 09:17:21 PM |

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Concerning rear shock bearings I vote against: the relative movements between parts is of a few degrees and very slow: there is absolutely no need for bearings, bushing is the best solution IMHO. Bearings will be more expensive and prone to failures due to corrosion, mud etc etc. Consider that the shock has a damper, that it's made to dissipate energy through movement in a viscous fluid (oil); some more friction in the bushing is absolutely insignificant. Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
So my frame came in today and like I said I’ve disassembled it completely for paint prep. Bearing are all unmarked but tomorrow I’ll have a digital caliper to take measurements. More info to come September 09, 2021, 06:53:59 PM |

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
I've been trying to reply to say Eddie beat me to the punch and I've received the frame after all! Any post with pictures doesn't seem to want to post however. In anycase , hightower lower link does not fit. the 30mm mount on the link that could fit thr rockshox bearing eyelet is too wide to fit through the frame . Otherwise, it seemed like an exact same match. Edit- finally worked . September 09, 2021, 11:36:39 PM |

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Took the digital caliper out and measured my frame also front mount : 30mm like everyone else Rear mount : 22.8mm also like most people Here's what I got for bearing but I would 2x check also as I measured them still pressed in, not planning on changing them yet top link bearing : 10x19x5, 6800-2rs x 2 lower link bearing : 12x21x5 , 6801-2rs x 4 chainstay bearing : 15x23.75/24, 6802-2rs x 2 I also contacted Manitou to check the piggyback length of the Manitou Mara pro , I measured that we have around 130mm of clearance from front shock mount to the seat tube. Manitou confirmed that from the top eyelet to the end of the piggyback is 100mm or 115mm depending on the shock dimension so it should fit. I'll take the plunge as I really want to match brand with my Mezzer. September 10, 2021, 04:38:50 PM |

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Can someone post the exact specs for a crown race spacer that worked for them? Currently available options that will work without a special bearing: 3mm race https://canecreek.com/product/3mm-52-40mm-alloy-crown-race-baa0855k/ 6mm race https://canecreek.com/product/6mm-52-40mm-alloy-crown-race-baa1078k/ 10mm -0.5 degree race https://reverse-components.com/en/products/05%C2%B0-angle-spacer-tapered-forks Alternatively, use a downtube protector as a bump stop : https://www.ridewrap.ca/products/shuttle-armor/ Specialized used to make a tall race for stumpjumpers and I think Hope and Chris King had some sort of race spacer available. Not sure if any of those wold work right without a specific headset lower to match. Anyway, don't have the frame yet but just throwing out the available offerings. There are probably others available on Ali or Amazon but for under $20 USD I picked up the 3mm Cane Creek to match the headset. I'll just add the downtube protector if it still hits, I'm not planning on doing bar spins and I move the back end on tight turns and switchbacks. September 21, 2021, 06:35:46 AM |

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
The original SC solution doesn't look that efficient either... Someone made a 3d print that was wider and longer but is only really practical when screwed in. I'm not brave enough to rivnut the seat tube, or anywhere on these frames really, to get a little sample fender. I bodged up a version without the screw holes that could be attached with double sided tape but it is heavy. The original - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4853311 Other than looking like a SC this frame has nearly nothing in common with any model. That said though I do think the muckshield made for the Tallboy/Hightower/Megatower would fit and be pretty neat. The M5 version isn't available yet but I think a crafty person can work out how to make something similar. https://www.phizcycling.com/the-muckshield October 06, 2021, 03:05:04 PM |

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
There was some talk a few pages back regarding what a mud guard for the shock. I had designed and printed myself one a few weeks back that seems to work well. It's held on via a zip and i've attached it for anyone that has a 3d printer. October 17, 2021, 02:40:29 PM |
