Re: Chinese Carbon 29er Pic Thread. My FM986.

apologies for blurry photo, and partly broken garden etc...I'll get better pics soon when out on it.

built from stuff transferred off the main xc hardtail. it's quite a mix.

Sid forks, non boost 120mm solo air, well, I say SID. Sid crown and internals, Reba 15mm lowers. 46mm offset
sidLuxe rear, manual lockout as I was sent the wrong one and can't be bothered sending it back to spain!

RF Aeffect cranks, Unite 34T chainring, XT 10 spd rear mech, SRAM GX 11 speed gripshift, 11-36 10 spd cassette, think it's a SLX. Chain is a clarks self lubricating, which as far as I can tell just means it's slotted.
Xt M785 brakes, 180F shimano 6 bolt rotor, 160R 6 bolt rotor
wheels are:
Front, novatec on DT x392 with a mix of ACI DB and Dt DB spokes, as that's what I had at the time. green alloy nipples...
Rear, Bitex 106R centrelock hub, 142x12 with Mt Zoom boost adapter, ACI DB spokes on Stans Crest rim.

Nobby nic tyres, both 2.25.

Bontrager Rhythm Elite seatpost, Selle San Marco SKN saltire edition saddle. cheap green seat clamp
Token headset
load of spacers from my shed.
Sunline 70mm stem
Niner carbon flat bars 720mm x 8deg
Odi Longneck grips.

cheap purple bell.

probably weighs about 24-25lb, havent got the scales out yet.
Quick up and down the road and it rides very light, accelerates quick despite being quite active.

not a pimp build, but a functional one.

Re: Lexon or Carbonda (or....)
I'm afraid the Carbonda could be a little bit more weak that the Lexon.
One question regarding the Carbonda, did you buy it directly trough their website? it seems that they don't have a shop on Ali express.

You can contact them directly by email: wing [at] carbonda.com

I did an enduro race in July, just swapping the wheels.
And the Swiss Epic, an XC race, in August.
Both with the 120mm fork.
The bike had harsher terrains than it is designed for, and survived 3 crashes.

Re: Lexon or Carbonda (or....)
but maybe there's better? so which one you will recommand?
lexon is what we can say a classic XC geometry, while carbonda 936 is definitely "down country" with longer reach and slack head angle.
The two bikes have their pros and cons and will have a different feeling on board.

So it's hard to say which bike is best, it depends on the rider, the terrain...

Re: Lexon or Carbonda (or....)
Why are you not considering two new entries ?

https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005003198785730.html

And

http://www.carbonda.com/mountain/full-suspension/130.html

That newer Lexon frame is interesting, but super short reach and front-center if the geo chart is accurate. Also says 100mm rear travel in the details but one of the images shows 110mm rear travel.

The 909 is not in production yet. Supposed to start next week if there hasn't been any further delay, but still might have to wait for particular sizes to be made depending on Patch64's timeframe.

Re: Lexon or Carbonda (or....) You don't think because the tubes are bigger, the bike is stronger, do you ? :D
In any case, I can tell you, chances are you'll be happy.

Re: Lexon or Carbonda (or....) What I like of the lexon riot is that it's not a spark's replica.
The weight is higher than carbonda fm936 and fm909.
And between 936 and 909 I'm also in doubt since I don't like the suspension scheme of the 909. Can a shock/geometry expert shed a light on this point, thanks

Re: BXT MTB 056? I'm not too worried about the chainstay length, I've had a frame with this one before and really didn't feel any difference with a 435mm chainstay frame for example.  It will leave more room for the tires so it's not bad.
For the transmission I have a SRAM GX AXS groupset, Sid SL Select fork, carbon handlebar-stem combo, Elita or Reverb AXS seatpost depending on the terrain, Light-Ride carbon wheels with Goldix hubs (1205g), SRAM level ultimate brakes  .

Re: Lexon "Riot 10" well, I'm still happy with my Riot purchase, but seem to be a bit unlucky by now...suspensions arrived on wednesday, put the RS Deluxe Ultimate onto the frame and found that Lexon Official Store sent me a wrong couple trunnion bolts!
M8 instead of M10, so now I have a spare for rocker arm linkage bolts ;D
They promptly shipped, meanwhile I've ordered a Vitus frame spare
Other than that I found my bottom bracket a bit out of tolerance; was really hard to screw-on BB cups, so I stopped and take it to a friend's shop to file it. Never happened such a thing in 20 years

By the way, I was able to "assemble" the bike and get an idea of what it will turn.

this set, from Lexon store on Aliexpress; real weight 1730 grams with HG freehub, haven't rode yet but seem to be a nice set.
