Re: Elves Eglath Pro Build Beautiful bike! Very curious about the Eglath ... seems to no get as much love as some of Elves' other bikes.  What are your ride impressions?

Re: Elves Eglath Pro Build the thing i like most about elves is how the name of their frames is like they've put a bunch of letters in a blender and set it to max.

Re: Elves Eglath Pro Build
Eglath doesn’t get the love because ELVES (imo) has been pushing the FALATH EVO,  and now the brand new VANYAR .., they're taking up all the “air in the room”.
yeah, it has to do with current marketing focus (their recent launches) and how Elves came to be more known over the last year (which has a lot to do with the Falath Evo).
Because the brand itself is already known in China and southeast Asia for years, it's just that the western world (and Australia) got to know it recently

anyway, great looking bike! really beautiful frame, the paintjob is nice, and the build itself is well put together. Glad to hear it rides nice :)
now, any particular reason to keep the 'pillar' adhesives on the spokes?

the thing i like most about elves is how the name of their frames is like they've put a bunch of letters in a blender and set it to max.
it's actually just names of Elven people from Tolkien's lore. Vanyar, Eglath and Falath(rim) which the brand decided to exclude the last letters
as someone who is a fan of Tolkien, this brand caught my attention years ago while browsing through Aliexpress ;D

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame
Did not see the cervelo one. I would not put stickers like that on my own bike with all the custom options available. But I don't really care that the owner did, since it's his bike. You should also. So chill and stop being such a Karen, because you seem to be indignant af by this fact

Not sure what is getting under your skin so much, just asking a few questions to understand the mindset here.

I am totally cool with taking the elements of a good design and improving them. I think the patent / trademark system is pretty broken and abused. I am less cool with creating counterfeits with the intent to fool others and if you really believe in the big picture of wanting more brand diversity and more great open mold options, you should also care as counterfeits have historically competed against open mold frames for access to the western market via low volume resellers.

Nice to meet you Mr. Chill, I guess I am Karen.

Re: Elves Eglath Pro Build couldn't the issue be that the photos are from different frame sizes?
with lots of frames, the smaller sizes have a more sloped top tube - the seat-post is smaller in relation to the stack/head-tube
so if you take the XL frame from w2ge the top tube will indeed be almost horizontal, while if you go for a XS it'll probably be a lot more sloped

if you look atthis photo of GCN's presenter Connor beside a shorter teammate, it's the same frame but you can see a top-tube slope difference (not so extreme, though)

I remember some time ago seeing a photo of 2 pro riders from the same team side by side, one of them was like 2m height and the other 1,6m, showing their bikes size difference. It'd be the perfect example, but I cannot find it again

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
The Great Hambini states in his youtube video that one should refer to his video or mention Z3 in order to get a frame that doesn't catastrophically fail.  I figure that's how he gets his kickback from light carbon.  Pretty shitty way to make money by fear mongering people into paying extra for a Hambini "special"

There is no proof he is getting kickback from them, and said he purchased the frame himself and did not get for free. Not sure why everyone is thinking he is a sellout, he already liked Lightcarbon from the gravel bike he reviewed from them. No one said this after his T1500 review years ago
