Ican P9 build Ok, so I thought I would start a new thread for the ICAN P9. I am building it up with Fusion Sweep roughcut, RS super deluxe, hope hubs, brakes, stem, 820mm RF carbon bar. Using ICAN 40mm rims and maxxis 2.8 tyre combo.
Still waiting for the shock.

Here is a picture of how it currently stands.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread! Rode mine the first time last Saturday, a short ride compatible with my wrist recovery. Ascent with steep technical portions, then a downhill singletrack, flowy at the beginning with small jumps, ending with tight turns in a steep off-camber section. Dry conditions, which make the off-camber bit slippery with loose soil and dust.

The climb was way easier, both technically and physically, than with my Rocky Mountain Altitude (same type of bike, but 27.5 wheels and "old" geometry).

The descent felt significantly better than with the Altitude. The bike is responsive and grippy, and handles great in the small turns, which I initially doubted with the big wheels. Haven't tried tight switchbacks yet.

Shimano drive train switches flawlessly (all Shimano but an e13 cassette). No cables rattling in the frame that I could hear above the rolling noise. The rear triangle is stiff, at least as stiff as my Altitude.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Hi to all , I'm new to the forum and this thread , In fact it was this thread that lead me to join the forum but unfortunately I discovered this thread two weeks after I received my 831 frame and so you know the problems i have found whilst building and riding my new frame , I bought the frame from the Tideace store on Ali express. I to was told i was getting the upgraded version but received the unmoded one , Then found the fork issue and was told that is no problem no one else has complained and the fork wont be in that position in normal use so i filed a dispute with Ali express and got £158.00 refund
I'm now trying to deal with the flex problem and have been offered the modified rear triangle and bolt for $220 plus shipping and paint which with the money I got refunded works out ok I guess
In the meantime I have contacted JJJ to see if i can join in on the bolt order as a fix for now, Thanks to all the people who have been working on a solution for the rear triangle problem , Cheers, Promoto

There were some people in the bolt buy that have sold their frames.  If none are available, and JJJ didn't have any extra run, I ordered two sets and I can drop down to one.  Bolts haven't shipped yet so there may be options.

I believe we can still add a pair, since the final production has not started. Hopefully we'll get them going this week.

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy (A) Thread!
Ride it its not that bad, The mane issue is the bearings moving in and out of the seat stays when that is fixed its just the flex in the seat stays.
I had a Foes AM frame that flexed the same and I didn't notice until I followed a buddy who was riding my bike , I checked it over thinking the bearing had worn out and found it to be flex in the rear triangle, I rode that bike for years and it was never a problem

Thank you!  I don't believe many others understand, or are aware of, the two distinct issues.

Re: Tideace 2022 New Enduro Mold FS838 Being Production Looks interesting, from the 831 frame I'd be investigating and putting a lot of time into ensuring the linkage design will not have any play in it.

Being able to fit a coil shock would also make this frame quite appealing, and also ensuring the fork crown will not hit the downtube of the frame.

Re: Tideace 2022 FS-AM831 Groupbuy C order with new Triangle
Of course, if you got any quality issue, feel free to contact me via email.

Eddy@haidelibicycle.com

Thanks.
Eddy

Hi Eddy,

I just sent you an email. I emailed you before but you just replied trying to sell me a new triangle. But you never addressed that you sent me a defective frame that has a problem with the bolts and bushing moving.

For your reference, the email I sent is below:

Quote
I have built my AM831 and have a problem. The rear triangle moves side to side even when bolts are tight on the upper bolt on the link. When I put my hand and I can move it and It makes a clicking noise and see where the bushing is moving. The bolt is fully tight. It  it should not do this. What can you do to help fix it? It is defective. Asking me to to pay for new triangle is not appropriate. The product is flawed. Please advise.

Re: Tideace 2022 FS-AM831 Groupbuy C order with new Triangle
Why? Are you hoping that between the two frames you will have enough functional pieces to have one good frame?
Because that's not really a given.

I dont I just wanted to see if Eddy was monitoring this thread, easy enough. So Eddy how about answering Snacks? What are you doing to fix his bike? Is he getting a new one?
