Flybike Asia FM906-D Build Hello Chinertown! Long time lerker first time poster. Anyway, I bought a frame directly from Flybike Asia (FBA) the other day and it showed up recently. I figured I'd post my build here.

I have a Carbonda CFR696 that I've been riding for about 3 years now and, as I understand it, is just a subsidiary of FBA; Anyway, the 696 has been an absolute tank with very little issues, so I decided to go on a climbing bike build journey. I reached out to FBA initially to buy direct and never received a response. About a year ago (Oct 21, 2022) I decided to try again and received a response from adam@hz-fb.cn. He was great to work with and very responsive. The final cost breakdown from FBA is as follows:

FRAME -     $590.00
HEADSET -   $15.00
SHIPPING - $190.00
PAYPAL -       $35.00
---------------------
FINAL $830.00

Timeline was:
Sept 5th - Invoice Paid
Sept 21st - Frame is finished and images are sent to me for confirmation
Sept 26th - Fame is shipped with Fedex
Sept 29th - Frame is delivered, packaging in good shape.

Details of frame:
Flybike Asia FM906-D (light weight version)
Size 56
Bottom Bracket BB86

Weights
Frame: 970 (derailleur hangers, faceplates, bottle cage bolts, etc)
Fork: 470

Photos coming up next

Re: Baldisio - Aerospeed [Venge/Dogma Fusion]: Who is the frame manufacturer?
I know the answer: it is Workswell WCB-R-326.

I received am email with their catalog, and then have many more bike than displayed.

Any chance for you to share that catalog here?

Re: Oak bikes Looks quite a bit like my LT268. Both the 268 I built had BB holes the right size too... You can get Oak decals for ten euro if you like trees. Got my tractor logo for that much.

Re: No6 wheels
Does Peter have 40/50 combo ?

He does. In 33/34mm wide, he's got 35, 40, 50, 65mm depths.

Can you share your thoughts on the wheels if you have ridden them? I’m not expecting these to be the next best thing to slice bread but wondering what your thoughts are.
Thank you

I haven't ridden N6 wheels, nor carbon spoked wheels. I have 8k+ km on wheels from Peter though (55&58mm deep, steel spokes) and I'm super pleased w them. I've used Farsports wheels for many years, and couldn't tell them apart (afaik, T800 is what it is, sapim cx ray ditto, & a hub is a hub). In fact if you're using the same materials and specs, i really dont think anyone could tell wheelsets apart. I've bought 5 sets from Peter and we're all v happy with them.

Re: Replica Factor Ostro VAM
There's potentially a way around it, and that's to do what Serge_K did, and get a custom paint job which says 'Tractor'. Then you can do an apples and oranges comparison between the two and not piss off your friend.

I got an open mould frame with black gloss paint, and I designed the logo myself, got it cut in fancy car vinyl by a chap I found locally, and applied the logo myself, making it fully reversible if and when I want to sell, or want to start trolling another brand.
But I agree that a solution would be to order a frame without a logo (ideally without a paint job that screams factor for plausible deniability), and then you'd be fine. Although from a video standpoint, you'd still be promoting a business making fakes and the fakes industry overall, so... Still a no no. I'm yet to find a single counterpart selling fakes that doesn't sound like a complete crook when you interact with him. The running argument is "don't worry just place your order", which is what any drug dealer would say.
