Re: Gravel frameset recommendations, anything I've missed?
I guess it's subjective, but all else equal, between ordering from Alix and from Peter, I'll always order from Peter because with him, you spoke to a human, you're not just an order number. Yyyyy when ordering from sp cycle AliExpress or online shop You also talk with a human and he even has a name and is very helpful. I know you try to shill Peter hard everywhere but lets not make a comedy out of it with false claims like that October 18, 2024, 01:58:20 PM |

Re: Gravel frameset recommendations, anything I've missed?
Mine climbs like a dream. Weight 8.5kg is good for a gravel bike. Personally I will not do such aggressive setup on a gravel bike but gotta agree - that bike does look good. Nice colors too. I know you try to shill Peter hard everywhere but lets not make a comedy out of it with false claims like that Finally someone said it. With the amount of shilling going on here for Peter I am kinda apprehensive now and turned off about this whole personified business. October 20, 2024, 11:05:56 AM |

Re: Gravel frameset recommendations, anything I've missed?
I did message him regarding one of his frames, but I didn't find his pricing was competitive for what I was looking for. Plus I was quoted additional costs for added components that come included with other sellers. Also I'm starting to find really solid vendors on AliExpress. For example 80 Design Store and Easedon Wheels have been great to work with. AliEx has direct messaging, I don't see how there's no direct customer interaction? Same. You can talk to Elitewheels too. In fact some of the Elitewheels guys seem to be sitting in the USA as they reply in US times. When I bought their wheels, they shipped it from USA thru UPS 3 day. Completely fuss free transaction. I bought Easedon too and there is indeed direct communication with the seller. Vendors like that were always on Aliexpress IMO. I got custom finish, spokes, hubs etc. Spec to spec, the wheels from Peter were straight $150 extra over what I paid on Aliexpress for Easedon because he wanted $100 for shipping v/s $10 for Easedon. And I don't care who made them. It could be Peter, it could be Tommy it could be Jackie Chan even. I understand rim brake wheels are going fast out of fashion but that is some hefty penalty for "personal" service. What do I, as a customer looking to buy one wheelset in a year stand to gain by getting into good books of a seller on Whatsapp? The shilling has reached bonkers level on this forum in last few months. October 21, 2024, 01:43:58 PM |

Re: Gravel frameset recommendations, anything I've missed?
I am not saying you are shilling Peter. YOU are being shilled, practically everywhere at the slightest chance. I am not doubting your product. From what I have read, it appears everyone is quite happy with your product/service. In fact I was considering something myself and when the push started. That made me think twice. Almost sounds like an agenda. I will give you some examples. A: I am looking at XYZ wheels.... B: Not good, talk to Peter instead, see what he has. C: Any recommendations for gravel wheels? D: Peter has the widest wheels!!! E: Any opinion on these ABC wheels on Aliexpress? F: Why Aliexpress?! Peter will give better customer service. Since you replied to this thread, its obvious you read threads other than promotional ones. So I am surprised you haven't noticed this and seem agitated. I started lurking on this forum in 2021 (long after you) and became member in 2022 because I finally made up my mind to buy an open mold frame. Since then I have been a regular here. The point I am making is, no one ever actively pushed their favorite brand/contact person as much as it is being done now. So blatant, so in-your-face. Any way, this thread has derailed a lot and I have no quarrel with you or anyone else. I am just pointing out things that have changed for worse in recent times. October 24, 2024, 12:52:55 AM |
