Re: LTWOO RX hydro sets
Have you seen this video regarding the issues with shimano derailleur and aftermarket casettes? Maybe it is not the problem of the casette after all, but a change in Shimano designs to be compatible with no one else hahahhaa I'm not entirely convinced with Trace Velo aka Luke's argument regarding aftermarket cassettes. I'm currently using 105 5800 11 speed shifters and R7000 RD + lightweight aftermarket 11-32t cassette. My setup shifts perfectly fine and that's also using an AliEx cheap OSPW cage. My belief is that shifting issues has more to do with the shifters themselves. Having used both Sensah Team Pro and LTwoo 11 speed Shimano compatible shifters, neither one can spot-on index like my current 105 and GRX shifters. I believe the shift tolerances are a bit more sloppy on aftermarket shifters. I think SRoad updated their road cassettes to shift a bit better as well. Also I tend to prefer the shadow style RDs, I have a bad habit of dropping my bike on the drive side and the shadow design has saved my RD hanger from getting bent numerous times. Re: Another Seaboard GR02
Nice build! Have you weighed it yet? I'm surprised these Seaboard builds aren't more popular amongst the AliEx crowd.

Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain
What is the point of buying wheeltop edx while a GX AXS is cheaper and proven? Here is why I went this direction versus SRAM. - Weight, my EDS OX, with battery, weighs 350 grams. XX1 weighs 373 grams, X01 =390 grams, GX-AXS weighs 463 grams. - My inspection indicates that the manufacturing, quality and finish of the EDS is right up there with XX1 and XO1. (Therefore my cost delta comparison is EDS VS at least X01) - (Not that I need this feature) but using the WheelTop app, lets you reconfigure the derailleur to work with 8 through 13 speed cassettes compatible with almost all brands of cassettes.) Wow! something generic in the world of proprietary shifting systems where the the 3 big boys intentionally change and make your groupset obsolete every few years and you can't mix and match parts between brands, because they "optimize" shifting to one set of specific parts. - At least to date, the shifting is smooth, fast, and quiet and with only a push of the button. Side note: I have been wanting to go electric/wireless for a couple years now because of a right wrist injury and increasing arthritis on the back of my hands that causes sharp pain having to shift standard Mtn bike shift pods) Time will tell if I still love this product a year from now. Re: WheelTop EDX OS Series Wireless MTB Drivetrain
They hide the links to the apps fairly well. A few of the stores on Aliexpress posted them in the past. (I still have not been able to get the Android version of their app to work for in the US. I wrote Wheeltop weeks ago, when a "working version for the US" will be available and they never got back to me.) I set up an account, but when I put in my login, it slams by location to Canada, then my login doesn't work. OTOH, on my wife's Apple phone I was able to login and use the app. ALPPE IOS APP:http://121.196.97.253/api/app/others/app/download?packageName=com.wheeltop.ride Android APP: https://wheeltop.oss-cn-shenzhen.aliyuncs.com/1658243982749app-release.apk June 12, 2023, 10:17:04 PM |

Re: RYET carbon MTB wheels/hubs
...experience with the RYET carbon MTB wheel/hub builds. Hubs any good, rims break etc, overall quality...I like the 33mm XC carbon rims themselves and own 2 sets. I would caution you using their in house carbon hubs, front has been fine, but on rear I was able to separate the bond between the carbon and alloy portions, and the main bearings are undersized, same bearings normally found in freehubs on better grade hubs. I wore out 3 brake side bearings in about 8K km on a 1Kw mid drive ebike, ran hard and fast offroad. I used that same rim on a wheel built with a Ztto M1 with 36t ratchet freehub, laced up with DT Swiss stainless steel straight pull spokes and copper nipples. I loved that wheel so much that I ordered a pair of the same Ryet 33mm asymmetric rims only, same M1 hubs and spokes for my wife's ebike. June 15, 2023, 11:47:12 PM |

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Recently bought titanium QR skewers made by Litepro on a whim because why not. The promised delivery date was sometime in August but got delivered today itself, about 12 days from ordering. Only 34 grams for the pair. I know QR wheels are fast going out of fashion but if someone's interested - https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLXy9VO Their store has some pretty interesting and delicate looking other goods. I might be down for some more items from them! June 16, 2023, 10:11:03 PM |
