Winspace G2 (Light Do it all bike)
Here is my 99% completed Winspace g2. I have to redo the rear derailleur housing, I should have ran it all the way through to the back but didn't. Theyre not meant for fully internal mechanical routing, but it can be done. This is my 4th "Chinese Carbon" frame set and it is by far the best (5th on the way). The build quality is as good as one can ask for. I had no issues building it, everything was faced nicely, no issue with the headset bearing seats. Which is the weak spot for "Chinese" frames, you can always just shove a BB in if it's not quite right. If the headset seats are done too poorly the frame is basically trash. The paint finish is great, there's a few spots here and there that aren't the cleanest. However I can say the same for my Matte canyon and Evil frames. You can only be so picky before one is just being unreasonable. Built this as a comfortable do it all bike, loved the round seat post, threaded BB, plenty of mounts and loads of tire clearance. It turned into a "lightweight" build half way through. Without sacrificing usability of the bike or going with super expensive components. Im very happy with the bike given its build quality, weight and price. Total weight came out to 6.82kg with pedals, cages, and an ass saver to offset the fact that I didn't have bar tape. The build came out to ~$3100, there's a few hundred grams to be saved, but I would have to replace components with ones 3-6x the cost of the existing one. This is the perfect middle ground in my opinion. Build List; Winspace G2 Medium: $1080 Light Bicycle AR25 with Bitex Hubs:$864 (1080grams) Elilee XXE Crankset 165mm: $320 (296grams!!) Wolf Tooth 38t Chain Ring: $30, used (77grams) Ltwoo GRT with ZRace brake Calipers: $305 Sram XPLR 12-71 Cassette: $100 New take off Zitto Chain: $26 Onirii 160mm Rotors: $40/pair (102g) Aliexpress Seatpost: $26 (136g) EggBeater 1 Pedals with Titanium Spindles: $70 (240grams) Ryet 3D Carbon Saddle (163grams) Lexon/Ryet Gravel Bars: $124 Carbon Bottle Cages: $16/pair (16grams each) Carbon Seatpost clamp:$15 (5grams) Panaracer Gravel King Slick 37c: free (bike bin) FSA Bottom Bracket: Free (bike bin) TPU Gravel Tubes: $8 Bar Tape: $6 Titanium Bolts: $40 Rode it around the block and it felt great! Just need to redo the housing and finish my other bike (which has an interesting issue) before the other one arrives. January 09, 2024, 01:42:55 AM |

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame
I had the chance to take this bike for a little spin last week and I ended up doing a 75km testride. This bike is just fantastic, not sure what else I can say. Comfortable, yet responsive and no noticable weaknesses. For this build I decided to go for a mullet setup which I still need to get used to. Somewhat overrated for the area where I live. Everything is flat as a pancake and coming from a roadie, this setup doesn't go fast enough to my likings. Might change to a SRAM XPLR setup to see which one works better for me. Parts list:

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Quick visual comparison between the Ryet Aircode 3D printed saddle and the Goldix 3D printed saddle that's available from like $17-25 USD during sales. The Goldix saddle seems to be well built, with a stiff carbon shell and thick rails. The 3D mesh also has a bit more cushion, while the bottom edges of the carbon seem to be more rounded. There's also a 1cm lip that protrudes from the back end of the saddle to give a bit more length. The two saddles seems similar. I'll report back on the actual ride quality once I put a few km/mi on it. UPDATE: I just took this saddle for a ride and it felt great! No discomfort, plenty of cushion, stayed cool in the California sunshine and minimal friction when adjusting position. Unfortunately it seems the price has jumped up from it's earlier low price! Listen, this isn't a bag that you're gonna put on your bike packing rig, but if you need an entirely unoffensive half frame bag for a little more storage (foldable lock, maybe a larger pump than the little hand bullshit you carry in your jersey) I can say that this ortileb knockoff is entirely reasonable for *7 fucking dollars*, lol: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805770155738.html Laced it up, looks pretty minimal, if it had some load in it, that seam in the middle that pops a bit would level out too. Airwolf Madone
Hello all, I've recently completed an AliExpress build focused on a knockoff Madone Gen 7 frame from airwolf. Everything was bought from AliExpress and my rotos(Shimano CL800) and chain(Sram Rival 12 speed) are the only non-chinese parts. Just wanted to share with you guys some thoughts about the buildand, frame and Wheeltop groupset. The frame: It's very heavy, 1550g for the 58cm. Paint is good but fragile. There's a defect on the front near the logo. The mount hole for head unit on the handlebars isn't threaded for the first 2mm so I can't fit a screw in, unsure what I'm going to do about that. Couldn't center my brake calipers in the rear, had to add 1mm of electrical tape on the left side of the caliper similar to another user here who added nail polish. The build: Don't attempt unless you're willing to deal with small issues and you have all the tools necessary. The compression plug that came with the fork had some edges that were 2mm too wide. This had to be filed down to fit in the fork. Internal routing on this handlebar is an absolute nightmare even with the cable routing kit I got stuck and almost gave up. Rear caliper is angled slightly wrong after torquing, not centered on the wheel. Another user added nail polish to fix the paint discrepancy, I added some electrical tape. The groupset: Wheeltop eds TX, haven't ridden it much yet but bleeding this thing is very tedious. Takes multiple passes to get the last little bits of air out. The micro adjustment per cog on the cassette is nice. The shifter buttons have a very far travel before actuation. I've added some filler on the outer edges to prevent the buttons from resting so far out resulting in less travel. Full list of parts here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19EG7w-PL_o6xKSSonwYg_NhqtS9TUTIpZ4kgHLeZcio/edit?usp=drivesdk I got lazy and stopped weighing individual parts during the build but the whole thing weighs 18lbs with cages and sealant. With a quality frame it could be dropped to around 16.5 but I'm happy with the result. Here is an imgur album with the bike, haven't been able to add an image and make the list successfully. https://imgur.com/a/6nXO66F July 28, 2024, 12:09:40 PM |

Re: Do SRAM etap axs derailleurs work on normal cassettes? (11-34)
You need only the AXS RD, Wireless Blips, and a 12-speed cassette with a matching chain. The latest AXS firmware no longer requires levers or a blip box. 3D-printed holders would be a good idea. I feel like leap components are the most used ones, but there are many options based on how your friend wants them set up. I would go with a road RD. You won't have any issues with the jockey wheels and not using a flat top chain. However, I suggest you use the SRAM cassettes. Their progression is excellent, and the 10 T is great as it moves most of your most used gears into the center of the block, so you get a nice chain line. You get those excellent 1T jumps where it matters, even with the 10-33. Also, the force and red chains last a long time and are worth the cost. August 15, 2024, 02:46:28 PM |

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
very nice. Ill get you more detailed pictures soon and its adjustability. The cockpit came with 3 spacers, a 5mm, 10mm and 20mm. The bridge can be flip and has more than 20 mounting holes, it looks similar to the one in aliexpress when you search for tt bars. August 21, 2024, 10:37:09 AM |

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
I am looking for brake levers for my triathlon bike. Not hydraulic ones, but mechanical ones for cable pull. I think the only tri shifters you'll find on Ali are microshift. You're probably better off going with shimano offerings on ebay. EDIT: just noticed you only mentioned brake levers. Yeah, no clue about those on Ali. September 11, 2024, 09:24:38 AM |
