Airwolf YFM053 build Hi y'all - Long timer reader, first time caller here.

Pulled the trigger on the Airworlf YFM053 and YFMF005 fork back in December and finally able to build it up.

Frameset arrived nicely packaged and the finish was decent for the price - save for a couple sloppy finishing job around a few of the water bottle bosses.

Actual build was straight forward, and I probably made it harder for myself by adding the foam sleeve onto the internal rear hydraulic hose. I did replaced all the bolts the came with the bike as they felt cheap and soft.

Frame came in at 959g, 20g for the hanger/retainer screw, and 552g for the uncut fork. It's about 9.3kg/20.7lb with tubes in both wheels for now. Plenty of space to shave a few pounds but I need to put in some miles first...

Re: My TanTan TT912 build I still need to revisit the Versa BTA plate. its rocking against the arm cup, making annoying noises.
i will probably swapped the armcup to the ones on my Controltech aerobar kit on my TCR(currently the bolt is siezed).
swapped to my old  tcr giant approach saddle, since its lower stack. i may be in market for a short-nose saddle as my aliEx Pro Stealth saddle base getting soft n saggy

btw, this frameset used Sram UDH style hanger.

I finally got the bike completed, minus the temp crankset  8)
im a lil afraid to do bike photoshoot since its like a flag/sail, can topple at anytime when theres wind ::)

Looks awesome, well done!
The whole thing looks stiff indeed. That seatpost is scary, i dont see how anything can deflect, so good thing you have fat tyres and steel spokes and not carbon ones. Make sure you follow recommended PSI and dont go italian by putting 100psi in 32C tyres. I have italian friends, i stopped trying to explain to them that it makes no sense to over inflate big tyres. Good, big tyres at the right PSI completely change a bike.
Such a chonly boi will never be light, if you check out triathlon forums, you will see people's bikes are super heavy, comes with the territory.
The bike looks like a sail, for sure it's going to be awful in cross winds :) Be careful when you see trucks, you can get pushed or sucked in hard on something like that, try not to die.

Thanks for taking the time to post, it's great to see Chinese TT frames.
Currently im still on 28mm gp5k front n back. once the rear worn out, definately gonna fit in 32mm. the cockpit felt a lil better now with the bartapes.
Since i already have the frame, folks can just AMA  ;)

Really great to see updates on this, the price of TT bikes at the moment is painful. I would love to know the actual weight of this and if you manage to sort the rattling / things getting loose
in SG even 2nd hand tri bike market going at silly price for the age of the bike. my build(minus parcours wheelset) literally can get almost 2 new speedmax cf7 105 mech.
the headset rattling issue was sorted with the micro spacers that i forgot.
tomorrow i'll weight the bike

edit: it weights 10.3kg equipped as in pic. bta not yet attached.
heavy AF.
i did considered a lightweight build ala Sebastian Kienle Norseman Tri scott foil tt-cockpit, but decided to go proper tri frame geo

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023 Here are some pictures of the cockpit, it has a decent amount of adjustability in my opinion. Unfortunately there are mounting holes on the top tube for extra hydration or bento box, maybe this can be added in the future.

VeloBuild VB-TT-023 frame build-up Just kicking off a thread to document the frame build. Parts used pictures taken an links to videos as I upload them. Hopefully it will help some other novice frame builders in the future to solve build issues or get a closer look at frame parts before pulling the trigger on purchasing this frame.

Extras in the box. 3 water bottle cages and extra screws for a taller towers. But no extra spaces. I will design and 3d print if I need to increase stack height.

The frame is a standard matt black in M with 420 bars and L rest bars (I am 175cm tall with a slightly longer trunk than the average person), here is a picture of all the bits out of the box a picture of the fork in place pre-cut and post cut with the stem attached.

I plan on getting some youtube unboxing video's up this weekend. Will add to this thread as I upload things. Expected completion date of build end Dec as I am time poor.

You can use my file if you want to. I've used printed ones aswell without issues, to find my correct height. Once I'm done with fitting, I'll replace them though..

I only made 30mm versions, but you can strech them in your slicer obviously.

All Third-Party Brands Road Electronic Disc Small Groupset Weight and Other Info
These are All Third-Party Brands Road Electronic Disc Small Groupset Weight and Other Information.
1* Measured by Gravel Cyclist.
2* Measured by Josh Ross.
3* No 1x Support means you cannot remove Front Derailleur when you use single chainring. But you can still use 1x chainring after Front Derailleur installation.
4* TM to TM = terminal male to terminal male. If you don't want to buy original wire, you have to bespoke these wire from some headphone experts because there is no MMCX TM to TM wire at present.
5* So far, their reliability are not so good when compared to Shimano/Sram. If you just want to try something different or have very limited budget you can buy it.
6* Only list MSRP in China.

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
Hello all,

did someone messure the real seat angle range of this frame?

Trigonometry time, because the answer is probably "no".
I'm assuming:
- a 81cm saddle to BB distance.
- 25mm of movement from the center (basically i assume there's 5cm of adjustment on the seat post: 80 degrees.
- 40mm for the nose of the saddle vs where it's clamped: 83 degrees.

That's ghetto math, but it shouldnt be too far off.

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023 All parts have finally arrived and got the rig set up. This is what it looks like pretty much in race set up (1st race is IM Lanza so front mech needed, but will be removed for flatter races).

Made a DIY BTA bottle cage plate from an AliEx carbon plate and a 3 slot bottle age adaptor common in MTBing.

The Trek Speedconcept Gen 3 (disc brake) specific downtube bottle doesnt work on this frame as it comes, however I'll find a way to mod the that bottle cage to fit. That or use the Orbea Ordu OMX or Cervelo downtube bottle.

Re: VeloBuild VB-TT-023
Could someone please post the measurement between the two basebar towers? Center screw to center screw.

Will get you some measurements. I am tempted to hack off the last few rows of holes as they're unused and unnecessary weight. Rather annoyingly the towers are a bit too close together / extensions don't have holes close enough to get my required width to be able to have the bolts mount directly into my d2z spacers.
