Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
Update on my slipping plug. I cleaned everything with alcohol and torqued it to 10nm. It's not slipping anymore. Well in place However, I am getting a clunking noise from the hamdlebar from when I ride. It clunks when I go over bumps or when I sprint and rock the bar a bit more. I have disassembled everything many times, torqued the top bolt many times and also torqued the stem bolts to recommended 5NM. When I rétorque everything, the sound goes away but quickly comes back, like if something loosens up, but there is no play that I can feel in the headset. I am running out of ideas of what can cause the clunking noise. Any idea is more than welcome. I am getting crazy with that sound when riding. May 29, 2024, 03:04:38 PM |

Re: Any guidance on how to select a road frame
Makes sense. Avoid the tantan indeed. All else equal, i'd rather you pick the SP cycle because there are probably 20 VB reviews for every SP cycle review on here, so it'd be good to mix things up a bit. When you get quotes on the SP cycle, you will probably see lots of sellers with the same mold. I assume it's an open mould. But it's confusing because you can have the factory, the client facing brand, and the aliexpress shop have 3 different names, if not 5. Tideace / Haideli (HDL) / SP cycle seem to be the same / sell the same frames. Falcon sports, Disai, you may find on AliX, same frames. In fact, if you happen to make sense of it during your research, please enlighten us May 30, 2024, 04:02:47 AM |

Re: WheelTop EDS TX Full Wireless Groupset (Chinese SRAM)
Did they increase the price of these units substantially since release? I saw some earlier videos where folks said they purchased the groupset for 500$ ish. I paid around $600 USD with using Eliexpress discounts, coupons and coins, for a hydraulic kit on March 18th. I recall seeing the cable brake version priced at $500 but they were listed as "not Available" Therefore I concluded, that there has been around a $50 increase since they first became available on Aliexpress. Hopefully by the 11-11 sale, prices with be lower than I paid, and I can purchase another set. May 30, 2024, 08:53:15 AM |

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets
Your sample size is 1. Mine is 5.Hi Serge, this really sucks...sorry to hear that... the problem with most of the chinese companies is, that the engineers usualy do not speak any english, they develop, that is it. so if a problem occurs, you end up with someone who speaks english, but does not have any technical clue....therefore, they ask questions like, did you ride it in the rain, they may have a note in front of them, with questions they need to ask..they hardly understand the product...the salesperson usually do not have any interest in solving problems, as long as the sales are good... My er9 was totally dead, nothing and they ask for a video...we have done several orders now, tries everything to help and at the end, they do not even trust us when filing a complaint...... Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
Isn't that super scary? Not sure if I would feel safe 40mph downhill on a frame I can flex with my fingers Other light weight frames from western brands also have flex on individual tubes . It's a box so its strength is derived from the entire structure not just from one individual plane from one side of one tube. June 03, 2024, 04:32:37 PM |

Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
How many spacers do you want? I am 180/181 cm tall and the saddle height is 82/83, I have more legs than bust. only 58. with a 350mm seat post, there would be 6-7cm left inside the frame. too few. as well as having a disproportionate saddle/handlebar height difference. How do you ride on a 54 frame? June 04, 2024, 12:09:03 PM |

Re: Hygge Aero Carbon Frame
You can't know much about aerodynamic efficiency by just looking at something. You need to test the stuff. Look at the nose of an F1 car, it's a very boxy shape.Well there are still general rules that a profiled shape will be more effecient than a straigh surface. F1 can't be compared since they are made to create downforce June 17, 2024, 01:50:38 AM |

Re: Any guidance on how to select a road frame
To be honest it's a bit of a crapshoot. Main thing is figuring out your fit. Then getting a frame with appropriate geometry (with changes to address any fit issues you have). And from there it's all fun and games. I would honestly just go with whatever frame fits well and looks cool to you. Only tip I would offer... personally I still don't trust proprietary seatposts, so go with something that has a regular round one. Beyond that it's up to you. If I had time I would love to set up some kind of Chinese bike database. To a degree I guess that's what this site is. July 01, 2024, 04:39:17 AM |
