Re: Thoughts on Panda Podium?
If you follow chinese components you're probably aware of Joe's channel on youtube (China Cycling) and his upcoming venture Panda Podium. https://www.pandapodium.cc/coming-soon/

What are your thoughts on it? Is he just going to be a middle man? Could he be the customer service solution we've all been wanting? Will this forum disappear into obscurity once he launches???!!!!  ;D

With rising prices on those Chinese components the last few years, what we do not need is a middleman to add some more to those prices...

Re: When do you change the cassette? If they start looking like puppy fangs as opposed to human teeth, then it's probably time for a cassette change!

Re: LTWOO ER9 & ERX - Electronic groepsets I have had a complete nightmare with the eRX groupset.  Managed to get the grand total of 1 mile on it before the rear derailleur stopped working, not a problem as these things happen.  Dealing with L-TWOO support is another matter... You basically get a small window of around 5 to 10 mins at around 8AM UK time where they read and may reply to your message and then that's it, they are gone for another 24h.   It's taken 6 weeks to get them to agree to send me a replacement rear derailleur.  In that time I have ordered a 105 Di2 groupset from China, waited for delivery, uninstalled the eRX and installed the Di2 and ridden 120km.

Cannot recommend, the replacement still isn't here

Re: Flared (aero) handlebar: What width in comparison to regular handlebar? I think it depends on what you are going for. If this is going on a bike where you ride mostly in the hoods but want more ability to keep the front wheel where you want when descending, i would match the hood width and go wider down below. If you want a more aero postilion on the flats without changing your descending, go with the width the same half way between the end of the drop and the hoods; right where you put your hands when covering the brakes.

I personally run a moderate flare Vision road bar on the gravel bike (41cm C-C at the drops and 39cm C-C at the hoods, labeled as a 40cm) as I didnt want a big difference between the drops and the hoods.

On the road I run an Enve SES Aero which is 35cm C-C at the hoods and 40cm C-C in the drops. They were the narrowest aero bars I could find 2 years ago and are the best bars I have ever used in the aero hoods position. They are comfortable and with a little work they definitely helped me get a much faster aero position. They do not negatively affect my ability to climb or sprint.

Today, Speeder has a bar with similar dimensions to the Enve bar, but I would love to go even narrower with a 33cm hoods / 38cm drops bar.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc!
Regarding the Aliexpress app.  I don't want to put a Chinese invasive app on my phone.   I am sure there are ties back to the Chinese government.  I am sure they are tracking you...

Have U maybe ever heard about Edward Snowden and US government?

Re: Yishun R086-D Aero Road
Noob question: can I ask why?
Wondering the same. In my experience the Neco expanders are very long but actually pretty low quality.

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress?
I like rhinowalk saddlebags, risk titanium bolts, towild lights.

I dislike anything from og-evkin.

Just ordered a Rhinowalk stem bag mostly for a snack sack on my bikepacking rig. Pretty much a full set of oil slick Risk Ti bolts coming as well. (if you haven't noticed I'm new here and going wild with these parts deals...)
