Re: dcrf26 frame - Scott Foil? Final Weight: 7.2kg (7.6kg with pedals, cages, GPS mount, and power meter)

This was not intended to be a weight weenie build, but there are some pretty cheap and easy methods to drop the weight. The most expensive component are the wheels and they come in at 1366g. Both the saddle and aero chainring are AliExpress specials. Going 1x and also adding TPU inner tubes....easily saved 400+ grams.

The bike is fast in a straight line. Once you're above 23-24mph, drafting in a group, or have a tailwind you can tangibly notice how fast it is. You'd think with such a thick seatpost and bottom bracket the ride would be harsh but in fact it's quite comfortable. Cam Nichols' latest video on his Elves Falath Evo explains this phenomenon. My only main criticism is it isn't very composed over bad pavement. You won't be able to really feel any harshness but more so in how the bike handles the bad pavement.

TanTan provided me with a 5% off code if you order via their Alibaba site. Single frame orders are accepted.

Re: aero gravel frame https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,4138.15.html

I only know this frame that can fit your requirements.

They can also remove the fasteners on the fork if you don't need them for $ 100, maybe they can remove the fasteners for mud guards too. I'm going to assemble something in the aero gravel style with 45mm deep and 36mm outer width wheels with 40 or 45mm tires.

Re: Specialized Power I have ordered 2 mimic power saddles from the exact same vendor and they were very different. One had the correct shape but then the fabric adhesive started failing and it is no longer a usable saddle. The second one I ordered started sloping down on the sides way too early so the shape caused blood flow issues.

Airwolf Madone Hello all,

I've recently completed an AliExpress build focused on a knockoff Madone Gen 7 frame from airwolf. Everything was bought from AliExpress and my rotos(Shimano CL800) and chain(Sram Rival 12 speed) are the only non-chinese parts. Just wanted to share with you guys some thoughts about the buildand, frame and Wheeltop groupset.

The frame: It's very heavy, 1550g for the 58cm. Paint is good but fragile. There's a defect on the front near the logo. The mount hole for head unit on the handlebars isn't threaded for the first 2mm so I can't fit a screw in, unsure what I'm going to do about that. Couldn't center my brake calipers in the rear, had to add 1mm of electrical tape on the left side of the caliper similar to another user here who added nail polish.

The build: Don't attempt unless you're willing to deal with small issues and you have all the tools necessary. The compression plug that came with the fork had some edges that were 2mm too wide. This had to be filed down to fit in the fork. Internal routing on this handlebar is an absolute nightmare even with the cable routing kit I got stuck and almost gave up. Rear caliper is angled slightly wrong after torquing, not centered on the wheel. Another user added nail polish to fix the paint discrepancy, I added some electrical tape.

The groupset: Wheeltop eds TX, haven't ridden it much yet but bleeding this thing is very tedious. Takes multiple passes to get the last little bits of air out. The micro adjustment per cog on the cassette is nice. The shifter buttons have a very far travel before actuation. I've added some filler on the outer edges to prevent the buttons from resting so far out resulting in less travel.

Full list of parts here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19EG7w-PL_o6xKSSonwYg_NhqtS9TUTIpZ4kgHLeZcio/edit?usp=drivesdk

I got lazy and stopped weighing individual parts during the build but the whole thing weighs 18lbs with cages and sealant. With a quality frame it could be dropped to around 16.5 but I'm happy with the result.

Here is an imgur album with the bike, haven't been able to add an image and make the list successfully.

Re: Airwolf YFR068 - 2023 Gravel Frame
I've used the SL7 bearings and the SL7 compression ring. I've sanded the edged of the cap so it sits flush. I think I did al the right things. It compresses fine at first, just slips a tiny bit after a couple of harsh gravel roads.

I had some creaking in the headset so I loosened everything up to grease up the bearing, but then for the life of me couldn’t get it back to a position that didn’t give me headset play.

I ended up combining two hobbies I never thought would combine - woodworking and bike, and clamped the bottom of the form and the stem, then tightened the stem, then the expander plug and it’s fixed it.

Perhaps give that a shot? Below is a picture.

Re: Carbon Wheels C'mon bro there are multiples threads of the forum about that. Don't be so lazy and at least read few of them, analyze and then ask there. There is no reason to start a new thread.

Re: CarbonSpeedCycle CSC wheels - avoid them
Quick update on my Carbon Speed Cycle Disc wheels bought in Feb 24'. It's now August 24' and I've put 1500 miles on them mostly over summer conditions.  The wheels have been flawless. No problems. Spokes are still evenly tensioned and no spoke breakage.  The wheels are fast and good quality. Hub bearings still like new.

Bro you have 3 posts and all 3 all about how good CSC are. c'mon that's not trusty.

Re: Facing BBs and brake tabs I have both tools for the BB and the brakes, but I've used them very rarely and never on a Carbonda frame. Not to sound like an ad  8), but I mostly build my bikes with their frames.

The only thing you might need to check is the paint, sometimes there's excess where it shouldn't be. Usually, just peeling it off with a cutter is enough.
