just finished my build.
At first I wanted to build my bike around Hygge Model S frame. So I started to look for information about this frame and found this forum. After reading this forum and watching Pattys videos I decided to go for Velobuild VB-268.

I choose painted variant. Frame showed 1040 g on scales in size 58. I didn't waight rest of the stuff (fork, seat post and integrated handlebar).
I build my bike with 12sp Ultegra Di2 and Elite Edge wheels. Whole bike came out 8,2 kgs redy to ride  with pedals, bottle cages and computer mount. I saw bikes weighing 7,8 kg on this thread. I don't know how you manage to achieve a weight of less than 8 kg. Any advices on how to get the weight down?

Building a bike was pretty straight forward except brakes - I can't properly align calipersto get rid of rubbing.

Airwolf Madone Hello all,

I've recently completed an AliExpress build focused on a knockoff Madone Gen 7 frame from airwolf. Everything was bought from AliExpress and my rotos(Shimano CL800) and chain(Sram Rival 12 speed) are the only non-chinese parts. Just wanted to share with you guys some thoughts about the buildand, frame and Wheeltop groupset.

The frame: It's very heavy, 1550g for the 58cm. Paint is good but fragile. There's a defect on the front near the logo. The mount hole for head unit on the handlebars isn't threaded for the first 2mm so I can't fit a screw in, unsure what I'm going to do about that. Couldn't center my brake calipers in the rear, had to add 1mm of electrical tape on the left side of the caliper similar to another user here who added nail polish.

The build: Don't attempt unless you're willing to deal with small issues and you have all the tools necessary. The compression plug that came with the fork had some edges that were 2mm too wide. This had to be filed down to fit in the fork. Internal routing on this handlebar is an absolute nightmare even with the cable routing kit I got stuck and almost gave up. Rear caliper is angled slightly wrong after torquing, not centered on the wheel. Another user added nail polish to fix the paint discrepancy, I added some electrical tape.

The groupset: Wheeltop eds TX, haven't ridden it much yet but bleeding this thing is very tedious. Takes multiple passes to get the last little bits of air out. The micro adjustment per cog on the cassette is nice. The shifter buttons have a very far travel before actuation. I've added some filler on the outer edges to prevent the buttons from resting so far out resulting in less travel.

I got lazy and stopped weighing individual parts during the build but the whole thing weighs 18lbs with cages and sealant. With a quality frame it could be dropped to around 16.5 but I'm happy with the result.

Re: Flared aluminum bar from Ali I have one of those and it definitely is flared. However, it's pretty heavy and thin on the tops - good for testing whether I liked the flare or not, but nowhere near as nice as something like the Zipp XPLR bars.

I also received my LTK266-D-SL and for now everything looks really nice. The frame is very well made, no wrinkles, etc.. I went with custom paintjob, which is ok, not the best but not bad. I would say paint is relatively thin, probably the purpose behind it is keeping the weight down. My frame (size L) weighted in at 780g with derailleur hangers, forks are 330g (uncut steerer), seatpost with all hardware just under 150g...so it is indeed a lightweight frameset.
I assembled bike, but haven't ridden it yet.
Regarding the sizing - at the time I ordered the frame, only S, M, L sizes were available. At 183cm and a little less than 80cm saddle height i think it is okay, but it is a good idea to match the frameset with longer stem because it is not a very long frame in terms of reach. Also, I plan to remove spacers because I think bike will fit me okay if I slam it.
Based on what I have observed till now, it is a really nice frameset ,kudos to Long Teng :)

About the weight, I did not assemble my wheelset yet, but I weighed the bike with brothers' wheelset. With pedals (no bartape), it is 7.3kgs. I find this very good for a Ltwoo erx build & Magene P515 crank and Conti Grand Prix TR tires (are quite heavy). With GP5000s S TR and lighter wheelset, the bike will be ~ 7.0kg, pedals included.

First time poster here, but have been watching these forums and this topic in particular.
I got a quick pro er one, size L, bought from US site with handlebar and ultegra di2.

In custom color cp06, so i can attest that: the back end is just clear coat and look nice, it will be the same for the options you mentioned. The front end i have cracked ice effect over red, again looking superb. That green one would be my favorite.

Re: So what's the difference between a fake and a real Chinese frame ? the frame shape might be the same but the carbon layer up will surely be different.  Carbon layer up design is what companies spend $$ researching into. Tons of R&D there.  For the counterfeit, their selling point is the counterfeit part, probably expecting people to just use their frames as displays on a wall so they don't really care about the layerup or process.   However, for other Chinese frames like the light carbon 018D which is their original design that they put R&D into. I would trust the original Chinese designs a lot more.
