Re: Please recommend a frame Yeah, I like the look of the Fasterway Ostro clone (if budget were no concern I'd probably get the real one by factor), but I have a hard time trusting the quality of a counterfeit

Re: ICAN Flyee Frameset
Looks like you'd only need a new front axle, no? That stripped thread is what is making it difficult to turn.

I'm pretty sure the threads in the fork are messed up, they look okay but maybe there's some clear coat in there or something. I tried a different through axle and it went in about a third of the way and then hit some serious resistance. I talked to ICAN and we came to the conclusion that I'll get the M12x1.5mm tap, do it myself, and if I screw it up they'll send me a new fork. I'm fairly confident in my tapping skills, so I think that is definitely the speediest solution. I was really hoping ICAN would just do a fantastic job and I wouldn't have to worry about any of this though :/ My image of them having super excellent quality and quality control is definitely damaged. I'm remaining optimistic that once it is built it will be great though. Right now I'm still waiting on parts, I don't think it'll be finished for another few weeks.

Re: Yuanan Carbon fiber wheelsets middle year discount promotion I've ordered from Farsports for about 10 years, never had a problem. Never even paid in full until the product was ready to ship. There have been a couple of delays always fully and properly communicated and given the option for a refund in one case because the delay was significant. Bought a whole bunch of Chinese frames from different manufacturers for testing for a disabled cycling team that my company sponsors. Same thing, never had an issue like this but we had fully communicated updates and delays if any. Personally I'm onto my 4th Chinese frame and never had any thing like this.

It's not normal, it's unacceptable, do not defend this behaviour, anyone who is trying to say this is normal is probably just some child behind a keyboard with experience extending only to their alloy Triban.

Really looking forward to whatever content you produce with this.

Pretty happy to see this was not a reply to OralMaster

Re: Replica Factor Ostro VAM
You should make a list with good/bad sellers for us ;).

Well from 1st hand experience alone, and this is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but I've never had problems with Far Sports, Peter (Xiamen Carbon Speed), and Long Teng. I think Chris from Velobuild is also doing a pretty good job given I suspect they track everything by hand with an excel if not a notebook (given their scale they could use an ERP). I wouldn't buy a frame from Airwolf but i'm very happy with their cockpits (allegedly T1000), which you can find on Aliexpres (on that, a friend just broke one, but he crashed at high speed because of a cat (i love that story, i dont like cats), so i dont think that means they're bad, just that well, if you crash, you can break stuff - earlier in the year he crashed in a descent and broke his front wheel).

If you can avoid it, dont buy stuff from Racework. I have mixed feelings about Winow. And definitely, definitely don't give your money to First-Class Carbon Fiber Store...

Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
After Hambini's review we can expect a incoming price hike....

You're referring to the Hambini "special" that he got for free?  What's f'd up is that Lightcarbon will ship plenty of substandard frames that there popping out with zero QC to unsuspecting buyers because Hambini sold out.

Re: Affordable lightweight frameset (not Winspace SLC 3)
- On (C), because a seller will usually tell you not to worry, then ship you swiss cheese anyway, you have to factor in an element of risk:

This is gonna be the reoccurring joke for 2025. Same way PLA was calling the Elves Falath Evo a "LARP of a bike."  ;D

"Did I receive a Hambini special?" No.
"Did I receive the swiss cheese special instead?" Yes.

Re: British professional team glued fake UCI compliance stickers to bikes purchased
I'm gonna wait for @SergeK to chime in hahaha

My take is: This should end any doubt whether or not a "Chinese" frame could withstand the use of professional cyclists. Assuming it is in fact LightCarbon. Shout out to them for offering a quality product.

Alternatively, I would expect mainstream manufacturers to be shitting bricks from this debacle and probably in backroom talks to make sure there are some serious repercussions for this stunt, officially or unofficially. The very idea that people might find out a a chiner frame is every bit as competitive and useful as a mainstream frame has got to scare them.
