Re: Removing decals No idea about the wheels, just adding a last-resort option: Some people had success with card scrapers*. If you're unlucky, that might leave a different finish and require some cosmetic work afterwards, though.

* A woordworking tool of bygone times, basically just a small piece of very thin sheet metal with at least one sharp edge. You do not really cut with it, but draw it at a very blunt, possibly negative, angle.

This might very well be your problem. I used the exact method specified in the eGR manual (5 links) and it works fine. I can also understand your confusion, because it is VERY confusing why a chain that is too long might prevent you from shifting into the largest gear (though obvious why a chain too short might not shift well). But, from my own experience, I can easily see, now, why a chain too long wouldn't work.

It's the same issue I described when I said that you have to shift slowly (last 2 gears one-at-a-time) for the 50t cog to work. The derailleur needs to be made to expand and create more clearance. If the chain is too long, the derailleur isn't forced to expand as much and the extra clearance doesn't happen. You can see this with the chain off. If you try to force the derailleur open, you can watch extra clearance be created between the cassette and the derailleur wheel.

Honestly, now that I am forced to think about it, I recall experiencing this when I first installed the groupset and was wondering if I had set something wrong on the b-screw or the end points. However, having followed the 5 link instruction my issue quickly disappeared for reasons I don't think I fully understood until just now, and I never really thought about it again.

I was also undecided between a 52 and 54. I'm currently riding a Elves Falath Evo 2023 with 378mm reach and 540 stack, all spacers, orome handlebar with 70mm reach and 100mm stem length.
I'm almost the same height als you are with the exact same inseam and went with a 54 and a 80mm handlebar. You can check your geo and compare it at bike-stats.[de], with handlebar numbers even. [https://xybikecalc.com/] is also an interesting site, where you can compare geo's in raw numbers and see how increasing or decreasing certain values change the stack and reach of the selected bike. My Falath evo also has a 25mm setback seatpost and the 54 compared to the 52 has also the higher stack without increasing the reach too much (only 4mm iirc). The bigger frame will be more stable on the rougher terrain I guess and there's more space for bikepacking bags, which I also want to do with this frame.

I don't have the frame yet, so I can't give you feedback on the actual fit, but that's the theory I've gone with. Maybe that's helping a bit.

Re: Wheeltop EDS GeX Installed my Wheeltop GeX. It was pretty straight forward converting my mechanical GRX RD and hydraulic Ultegra shifters. I still need to test out the bike, but so far shifting seems precise and it looks very streamlined!

LTwoo 1x12 groupset with a ZRace (I think) 36t crank.
Some old Prime wheels with Tufo Thundero HD in 44c. Rides fine, a few minor adjustments needed but happy so far.
