Hi everyone, Since someone was referring to a VeloBuild VB-TT-023 here, here's my build. It is a weapon. Very fast and very sexy looking. The only thing was that the original cockpit wasn't working well for me. Too low, too close to my body and too narrow. So I customized the cockpit quite a bit: #1: I cut a custom aero bar base plate from a 4 mm thick carbon sheet in order to bring the underarm rest pads more outward and further forward than the original base plate would allow. #2: This also allowed me to add a QuadLock mount for my phone, so that I have my data right between my arms. #3: I 3D-printed two one-piece 12 cm tall spacers. In order to give them more stability, I replaced the long M5 bolts with thicker, extra-long M6 bolts, which meant I had to drill the holes in the handlebars a tiny bit wider. #4: I also 3D-printed a little box that is attached underneath the aero bar base plate and which can slide in two energy gels while I’m riding. #5: I ended up not attaching the water bottle to the seat post. I attached it to the down tube. Looked better and way easier to grab the bottle while riding. Photos (incl. Sitar_Ned is the forum's administrator. You can reach out to them via PM or email. Honestly, not much capacity at all. It's just me and I am in no way a web developer or webmaster. Just a simpleton Arkansas mountain biker that somehow figured out how to get this forum up 10 years ago. I know the broken pages are annoying... and I am sorry about that... I do try to fix them immediately when they pop up so please do let me know.. I really appreciate it. I do have plans to upgrade to the latest SMF version to fix little issues like that but I'm sorry to disappoint anyone but there are no plans to "modernize" the forum in any way. No desire to have some modern mobile-friendly, super slick, dark mode interface. Chinertown will remain old-school looking with zero ads and zero optimizations for Google search. My main goal going forward is to keep AI out of the forum as much as possible. That's just my jam but I do understand if it isn't for everyone. You might need a better reference before deciding if this is the bike for you. I suggest demoing or riding some road bikes to get a better feel if a bike fit is out of the question. My road "race" bike is 30mm lower stack with the same length reach as the gravel race bike I use for events like Unbound. However, my fit reflects the ability to fold myself into a relatively long and low position on both bikes, which is only sustainable as long as I remain very fit. This is typical for people who race both disciplines or at least race on gravel and train on the road. The difference lies mainly in the primary aero position being on the hoods on the road and more mixed between the hoods and the drops on gravel. I think it's more common for enthusiasts to go 20-30mm longer (including stem length) and 10-20mm lower on their "fast" road bikes vs. their gravel bikes. In addition to the stack and reach, the LTK266 might also be a problem for you in terms of saddle position. Both the M and the S have a much steeper seat tube angle and no option for a setback post, so it will position you further forward. Further forward and lower will likely make you much more aerodynamic but will also put more weight on your hands unless you are a fit rider who can sustain a relatively high power output for your weight. The LCR018 is an example of the "newer" endurance bike geometries that are super short, allowing the rider to sit upright and put most of their weight through the saddle. It's recycling the geometry that was used for women's bikes in the 2010s (like Pinarello's Easy Fit line) and is still used by Liv. If you can find a Giant/Liv dealer near you, the Liv Langma in a size L is the closest bike to the 540 LCR018, followed by the Giant Defy in Size ML. This type of bike is ideal for many people who want to undertake long rides and prefer a more upright riding position. Hope this helps! August 19, 2025, 10:57:41 PM |

Well it's been about 2 months since we migrated to a new server and upgraded the SMF version and there have been zero broken pages since so I think it's safe to say that issue is fixed. Great success. I agree about the image upload issue. Could definitely be improved and I will look into various options. Thanks for all the feedback positive and negative. To those that post or message me to say this forum has helped them in some way.. honestly, thank you so much for that. It is a genuine source of positivity for me to hear these things. Also just fyi the stack/reach numbers on geometry geeks for the LTK266DSL in size L is wrong -- it is 564/388 not 559/389Thanks good-catch! But it turns out Geometry Geeks is correct... the LTK266-D was the heavier predecessor to the LTK266-D--SL with a press-fit BB86 which I found via archive.org and strangely has slightly different geometry. https://ltbikes.com/index/products/view/id/211.html Per an exchange with Alisa: "For the road model LTK266 , we have 2 versions , normal version and super light version . They're almost the same in shape , both all in one molding , there's no any joints on the frame . Normal old version has BB86 BB , new super light version has T47 BB and with UDH rear hanger , the price of super light version is $140/set higher than Old version . I finally received my wheelset this week and the 0 mm offset chainring (and spacers - I have 3.5 mm chainstay clearance with 1 mm spacer and 48t chainring). However, I ran into new problems. The 13 speed Rival chain doesn’t fit the chainring, it seems. I tried putting on a used 12 speed D1 chain and it fits just fine (it’s stretched though). Any ideas where I got it wrong? The chainring is Sram AXS Flattop compatible and I understood the 12 and 13 speed chains were identical dimensions. I guess you would have probably figured it out yourself, if it would be the solution, but on your picture you did not align the narrow-wide teeth correctly to the chain. Do you know (by experience?) if Shimano 105 rotors would face this issue ? If you mount the rotor correctly flat, then no issue. On current Gran Turismo frameset, we will remove all decals except the XMCS or CARBON SPEED on downtube for now. After we get our US trademark approved, we will figure out more western design. Sorry all.. I do agree completely. Definitely needs improvement. The inevitable move to SMF version 2.1 will have this and multiple other features added. Auto image resizing, mobile compatibility, the ability to tag other users, and a few other features that will be nice to have and have been requested. This year, we moved the forum to SMF version 2.0.19 and the plan is to move to 2.1 next year. So, while I can't say this issue will be fixed right away, it will be fixed. Hi guys. Thanks to the posts here, I was able to finish it. I'll attach a photo of the recording. I used parts from a hardtail non-boost that I had previously used. The rear suspension is epic8 190 x 45. I haven't used it in a race yet, but it feels really good. Glad I came across this thread. Thanks everyone.
