I have found a Shimano M8100 XT groupset on Aliexpress for $490 w/ shipping.

The same groupset is on sale from Jenson for $699.

Should I be skeptical, or have I found a good deal?

What size dropper post is good for this frame, assuming a rider height of 5'11" and frame size L? Is 150mm reasonable? I'm considering a PNW Loam vs OneUp V2 in case that matters.

Component Deals & Selection / Six Spoke Wheels for 29 MTB XC build

The twelve-year-old in me wants to buy a set of six-spoke wheels for a new MTB build (100mm FS XC frame).

They look cool but is it a waste of money? I can get a really nice set of carbon rim wheels with better hubs for the same price, and I never see any serious bike vendors offering these on a bike for sale, so I'm really skeptical. How bad are these likely to be for a normal recreational XC rider like me?

For this (Airwolf) frame can we use the Rockshox Deluxe Select+ 190x40mm rear shock with the EVO link?

I have seen some 190mm rear shocks available with 42.5 or 45mm stroke, will those not work or can you wiggle on that somehow?

I am deciding between these two frames for an Epic Evo-like bike build:

I don't know much about this. I have built one Chinese frame bike before, Seraph/Tantan FM078 and it's over two years old now. I'm going in for another round. I'm looking for something as much like an Epic Evo as possible on my budget. The FM078 has been solid so I'm biased towards the Seraph frame with its additional 10mm of travel. The Airwolf frame looks to be a solid choice as well, especially since I can re-use my 1.25/1.5" headtube fork whereas the Seraph frame uses a straight 1.5" headtube, entailing a new fork expense.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

I am searching for a cheaper alternative to the RockShox Monarch RL rear shock I have now which is due for service. The last time I had it serviced it cost me almost $200 which is almost the cost of a new shock. So this time if I can find a cheaper shock then I'll give it a whirl to save some time and money. I have found one that's almost there at 165x35 but that won't work, right?

If anyone has bought this or another similar frame I am definitely interested in reading your comments. I can't find an Epic Evo in the shops here and I'd prefer to build my own using this or another similar frame, but I'll feel better about taking the plunge if I'm not the first in the water.

BTW I ended up building an XC FS bike with a frame from Tantan FM078 (similar to the FM038 I mentioned at the start of this thread), nothing but good times so far.

I'm considering a frame that looks to be reasonably close to a Specialized Epic Evo, which is the bike I thought I'd get before I decided to build something similar instead.

I'm considering purchasing a frame from BXT but hesitant since there doesn't seem to be any reviews or forum postings about this brand. And the price looks almost too good to be true.
