order any bxt product at your own risk.  I bought a frame from them and had issues.  They seemed eager to help until they realized it was a problem with the frame itself and not just hardware.  Then they ghosted me and wont' respond.

For me personally, BXT will never get a dollar from me again.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Best FM909 downcountry tires
« on: August 17, 2022, 10:49:25 AM »
I have a lot of experience with racing ralphs, it's on my XC bike right now.  They are superfast and pretty durable, a great tire. They are also slick.  I ended up taking it off the front and leaving it on the rear of my xc bike because of this.

For down country, I don't think it's a good tire.  But it depends on what you mean by down country.  I consider down country a do it all bike, between  XC and enduro type of riding.  Basically, one bike to rule them all.

I think the assegai and aggressors, the rekons are good also.  I have a minion set up right now, and that feels so slow that I probably won't run them again.

I also don't recommend going above 2.4 (2.5 front) for down country, something about 2.6 tires feel so slow.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Re: ICAN advice

thanks, appreciate the response.  Challenging to find a decent trail/downcountry frame with the specs I want.  BSA, 1/8-1/2 headset, 31.6 post, fit for a 140 fork.

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / ICAN advice

Is ICAN considered a good brand/company?  Thinking about the P1, fits my build better than the carbonda  1001.

Thanks FullCarbon, appreciate the response.

thanks for the reply, I was looking at the FM1001.   The only thing that puts me off on that frame is the 1/2 x 1/2 headset.

Hey all,
New to this forum.  I have been building bikes for over 20 years (I am almost 50!), built up 4 "china bikes" (plus about 15 others, surly, lynskey, etc). For china bikes, road bike (don't remember brand), Airwolf hardtail, seraph gravel, and most recently a carbonmaina (bxt) full suspension bike (FM078). The BXT bike frame has been trash since I got it.   The bearings weren't seated properly, because the frame tolerances are out of spec.  This caused pivot bolts to break mid ride because of the out of perpendicular torque applied to the bolt.  I emailed carbonmania who gave me a bxt email.  Emailed them several times, they asked for pictures, etc.  When I sent them the last pictures of the frame measurements that seemed to be out of tolerance, they ghosted me.  Neither carbonmania nor BXT will respond to any contact.  I will never buy from them again.

Anyways, I am posting because I want to build up a full suspension trail bike.  Don't want to make the same mistake of buying from a crappy company again.

requirements
Front fork travel 140-150
BSA BB
no through headset cable routing
reasonable price.

Any recommendations on a good company that stands behind their product?

I read a bunch of the forum posts and it seems like people like light carbon,  carbonda, or ican.  Ican seems a bit pricier than the others.
