went and found the geo chart from when I ordered.  looks like seat post insertion are as follows 17" (200mm) and 19" (220mm).  stand over looks to be 17" (774mm) and 19" (791mm).  that is about 14mm more that the LCFS947.  this frame has 50mm more insertion length than the 947 as well.  I would actually be able to get a longer dropper in the new frame vs my old frame for only 14mm more stand over.  currently I am at the max (10mm less) insertion length to get the seat where I need it.  this seems like a win to me.

The trend in the bike industry is to have a longer dropper post with a shorter seat tube. For example the ibis Ripley and Ripmo, two of the best selling bikes in the industry, have ST lengths of 418 and 432mm respectively. It allows for more customization via different length dropper post and is much nicer as you can move the seat way out of the way when you are descending. With dropper post reaching lengths of 240mm, it shouldn’t be a problem accommodating longer legged riders. Additionally, droppers are starting to have shorter and shorter insertion lengths, which can make up somewhat for a short frame  insertion length. If this seller wants to sell the most amount  of frames, he should try to lower the seat tube length. As it is, it will deter buyers looking for a frame with modern geometry.

well the Ibis bikes don't have a shock running through the seat tube either.  have the seat post insertion lengths been posted yet?  I have a 180mm dropper on LCFS947 and I have 90mm of the non-dropper post sticking out of the frame.  Not once have I thought that I needed a longer dropper.  I am guessing they had to go with the choices they did because of the shock placement and needing to have a specific amount of insertion length.

Also trends change, wait a few years and this may be the new "in" frame design.   ;)

Component Deals & Selection / Re: sentyeh HRD 1x11 compatibility

Did you have issues with the cassette?

The front crankset has the 40T x-sync chainring that comes with sram rival crankset 12sp. The cassette however is a sunshine hg hub 11 speed cassette. I was thinking of trying a 12spd gx eagle chain and seeing how that works with the 11 speed cassette.

No the cassette was not the issue.  it was just the chain ring and only the wide tooth was causing the issue.  swapping to a 12 speed specific N/W chainring solved the issue.

i actually had an issue with the 11speed narrow wide chainring being too wide for the 12 seed chain.  it would not sit all the way down in the chainring.

There has been some bikes built. Me, my wife and my son has been  upgraded quite a few times. ;D During the pandemic it was easy to sell a used bike so I could build a bike, ride it for a couple of months and sell it for component costs. Now things have changed, its very hard to sell a home built bike so I have  to many bikes and therefore no space for more builds  >:(

But I am looking forward to the new LCFS948 frame, moste likely  I can not resist to build one.

What frame is this bright orange one?  That looks slot like the new lcfs948!!

the size M is on testing, size L have no make the metal mold, need more time, so we have the time for seat post,
but one question is if short the length of seat tube, it's hardly make sure the enough length for inseart parts of dropper post. the seat post only can be between the two red lines,

Leave it as it is.  like you state, you are limited on how far into the frame you can go.  if you make it too short, a taller rider wond be able to get a post in far enough and will still have issues.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Which rotors for MTB?

i would look at Galfer, jagwire, magura, or hayes rotors.  you could go with the new RT905 XTR rotor too.

I am using the light carbon 914 frame with a 2 idler style chain tensioner.  Seems to work really and is super light.  Xt brakes and crank put it at 17.7lbs.  Rigid fork and some lightweight wheels help a lot.

I'm looking to also build a LCFS918 MTB but I have some concerns (as it is my first build), I weigh 105 kg will the frame (size L) hold my weight doing small jumps?
Should I buy Lightcarbon rims or shoud I buy brand ones locally for the service when something breaks (Belgium)?
What is the wait time for european deliveries (estimate)?

I really like some of the builds I see around here nice work everyone.

I am 102kg and ride the large.  I have not had any issues.  I do run my shock pretty close to max psi but that is with all my bikes.  I road a different open mold frame for 5 yrs before this with no issue either.  As for the wheels, light carbon will be just fine as far as the weight is concerned.  As for servicing, any shop should be able to replace a spoke if you were to break one but nothing about LC wheels or any other open mold companies wheels would increase that likelihood.

Undecided between this and the 917 (aka 919).  I like the idea of two bottle cages.   I want to use parts from a donor bike and hoping to transfer across.
Do you think this can run a 130mm fork and a 120mm shock?
Also will a SRAM NX X Sync ring with 30T boost 3mm offset work with this BB (sorry I am noob with this)

the fork will be fine, the shock needs to be the correct length and stroke, so most likely not.  and the crank will be fine.  you may need a new BB depending on what your donor bike had for BB shell.

Any thoughts on RISK vs. Wanyifa bolts? I have had the latter in my cart for while.

I am pretty hard on my bikes. Ridden in the rain and mud then hosed down with one of those Muc Off pressure washers, ive trashed a few sets of stock sram jockey wheels as well. I only have sram groups at this point so the ones with 689 bearings use reducers. Between those reducers, the shields, and the questionable quality of the bearings there is a lot of play. They also died really quickly.

Kogel is pretty average IMO regarding bearings but their design work is good and the 688 bearing size has a lot of great bearings available for it. Eventually the plan is to swap these out for Enduro XD-15 bearings. Curious to see if they really are a tough as their reputation.

I have wanyifa to on all my bikes and love it.  I have a few risk items but I don't like labels and I also wanted to get some strange size bolts.  So unless you are looking for the really weird specific parts, I would recommend wanyifa or even try craftsman.

So i have the 919 frame on the way and bought a 165x45mm trunnion shock for it, and looking for the bushings for it.  I can't seem to find M10*54mm on Aliexpress.  Is it an uncommon standard?

If you need a bushing for the bottom I highly recommend Offset bushings.  They are based in the Uk but ship all over and make great stuff. They even make custom lengths and what not.  If you need it.

The M10x54 is not a bushing. That is the width and thread on the top of your shock. A grunion mount only has the lower bushing and the top threads into the shock body directly.  The frame should come with the two m10 bolts and the bearing will be in the frame.  Just put your shock in and bolt it up.  This has one hole visible and then another on the other side.  Notice there is no bushing eyelet on the top of the shock. https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.dY1lJcDRK4CSVubdjO33UQHaFj?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain

The light carbon has the LCG010-D and the LCG073-D that both have round seat tubes.  the 73-D has rear micro suspension and a 31.6 post.  looks like the just posted all the specs for it.
