...I hope they show up at the Taipei Cycle Show with this new frame...

If you or someone else go there, it would be great to have some pictures(not only the M7007) on the forum !

I'm going. Will definitely share photos of what I find here.

Well still no new intel on the Scott Ransom look-alike.  All I can say is that the Pro-Mance M7007-II was designed after the Scott Spark, and it did turn up with very similar geometry numbers but slightly different looks.  Different enough, in fact, that the Spanish brand Megamo was able to market and buy out the frame in much of western Europe.

I'd expect the Scott Ransom look-alike to be similar to the M7007-II in terms of aesthetics, but very similar to the Ransom geo numbers, if not identical.

I like the look of the M7007-II.  I'm more concerned about whether or not they can match the kinematics as well as the geo.   :)

I hope they show up at the Taipei Cycle Show with this new frame.  Even a 3-D printed prototype is fine.  ;)

Former lurker here.  Currently considering some of the frames shown on this forum for my next AM/Enduro build.

Looking to get a 29" ride with 150mm travel or above, 66 degree head angle or slacker, 440mm chainstays, 420mm reach, and a seat tube angle of about 76 degrees or thereabouts.

Prefer single pivot and horst link designs but am more than willing to try out VPP or DW-type linkages.

Any referrals would be appreciated, even 79ers (29" front, 27.5" at the back).

This is the sort of geo that I am interested in, yes I know 27.5 https://ninerbikes.com/products/rip-9-rdo-27-5

The 29" geo isn't so bad, either.  Niner hit a home run with both wheelsizes.

29+ & 27+ / Re: LightCarbon LCFS-712

Boosting this thread up as I am looking to get this frame.  I wonder if one can put 29 in wheels on it.

The graphic shows 27.5+ so it should be able to fit, right?

It's your run of the mill 4-bar design, definitely not single pivot.

A little heads up. The Chinese New Year is on Feb. 5. It's gonna be a long and busy holiday in China. If you don't get your orders in the next few days, it's going to be a long wait.

Yup. CNY is typically a 2-week break for everyone in the country.

I've got a little intel to share, but I'd love to hear what others have heard from agents I may not interact with as much.

Pro-Mance is finishing up 3D drawings of a bike inspired heavily by the Scott Ransom. This should be available later this spring. They are also hoping to get on the trail bandwagon with a long and slack model, and I've been pushing them hard to be original. Specifically, I've advocated for a slacker HTA, shorter chainstays, higher BB, and steeper STA. I've given them specific numbers and aesthetic design tips. They seemed enthusiastic and we are keeping in touch.

TanTan hopes to release "more new MTB models", specifically full-suspension with trail-optimized travel (120mm - 130mm).

We've just got a barrage of aero road frames from TanTan, Pro-Mance, and ICAN, so they are really interested in mountain right now.

These manufacturers are probably hauling ass now, design- and prototype-wise, as the next Taiwan Cycle Show is next month.

The fork list isn't up to date so you need to get the accurate axle to crown measurement of the fork that you want.

Did some calculations online on how the geo changes and I'm quite happy with the results.  I wonder if the head tube can take the extra 10mm added.

Hope someone can tell me if this is accurate.

29er / Overforking a P9 (29er build) - good or bad idea?
« on: January 30, 2019, 10:00:25 PM »

Background
On the diagram, letter F (axle to crown) states 571mm, which is the A2C of a 160mm travel Rockshox Lyrik or Pike 29er.  Offset states 42mm.

The Plan
Find a 29" Lyrik 170mm (A2C of 581mm) with a reduced offset of 44mm.  Use it on the P9 to achieve a 65.5 degree head angle.

Good idea or bad idea?

Bike looks hot!  How does she ride?

EDIT:

Did you choose to get a shorter offset fork?  I saw on the CAD drawings that the recommended offset was 42mm.

Geo looks good, a bit more up to date than the ICAN P9 owing to:
  • shorter chainstays (440mm)
  • steeper seat tube angle (75)
  • slightly longer reach (check row "B")
The sad part here though would be the recommended axle to crown length of 564mm vs the P9's 571mm.  A 160mm travel Lyrik has a 572mm axle to crown.
