Stefan,
Thank you very much for clarification; it's very important to get these feedbacks. Moreover all reviews always stresses the downhill performances but they almost never describe how a bike climbs; if you aren't using lifts 80% of the time you are pedaling; my idea was to build an enduro hardtail, but then I fell in love with the new haideli am831 frame and I ordered it. Being a "new" frame the associated risks of defects are higher; still I hope it will end up in a bike where long climbing is possible. In my project the weight should be around 13 kg, so not crazy high.
the LCFS947 was one of my option, I like the geometry, maybe I found a bit weird the aesthetic of the finished bike, but this is personal taste.

Good to hear that lightcarbon has good quality; two questions:
in the last purchase did you notice price increase due to covid, raw material crisis?
And as you built XC, trail and enduro bikes: geometry is ok? Can you feel the difference? The enduro one is still good for pedaling uphill?
Thanks and good luck with last project!

Good to hear positive feedback on Haideli. Moreover given the lack of components even if we'd receive the frame today it's going to take long to find the parts.
I fell in love with this frame, but after reading this forum and elsewhere if you want something that is ready, widely tested and proven of a good quality you should go with ICAN P9.
I don't like P9 geometry, not very slack and long chainstay; probably you can improve it building a mullet bike. How much our frame is better than the P9 for the amateur rider like I am I don't know, maybe it would be the same.
Ok, let's relax and wait for the frames; I'll keep you posted about what Haideli will answer me after 15th, my promised shipping date.

I don't know who noticed this:

https://haidelibicycle.en.alibaba.com/product/1600232038602-825866874/NEW_Upgraded_29er_boost_T1000_Full_Suspension_Bike_Carbon_Frame_MTB_Disc_brake_mountain_bicycle_frame_29.html?spm=a2700.shop_index.89.2.29214766xxZ3JX

Haideli sells "NEW Upgraded 29er boost T1000 Full Suspension..." so, is this the version that solves the issues and that we will eventually receive?
They claim the carbon is T1000, which is stronger but very seldom used due to price; And it is brittle.
40 days shipping time they say.

While waiting for the Haideli frame (any updates about production & shipping?) I am scouting the market for the wheels; my idea is also 30 mm inner width carbon rim and DT350 hubs.
BTLOS and lightbicycle are the most reviewed and so the most expensive: well over 1000 $ with shipping.
I got a quote from xmcarbon.cn and https://www.carbonal.com.cn/ for the same setup for around 800$ shipped; if the quality is also cheaper I don't know.
I can just say that in 2013 I bought an hardtail frame and carbon wheels from carbonal and I am still using the bike, no failures, no complains.

Some people says and warns that to build a bike you need "hundreds of dollars of special tools". in my experience isn't like this: give that you have a normal tool set at home all I needed last time was the insert to lock the cassette, the insert for the bottom bracket and the cut chain tool: nothing else, total cost 30 usd maybe less.
You will need again these tools for bike maintenance.
(fork stem could be cutted with a hack saw and leveled with a file, star nut inserted with a screw driver and hammer; if you need to push in headset two washers and a long bolt)

As the wait is long we can meanwhile share ideas about the build; I want to do a light build to make it capable to go uphill, I believe the possibilities of this bikes will exceed my skills downhill so I don't need to work too much on this.
My idea is to do 150-150 mm excursion, fork maybe a Pike, rear whatever is light, cheap and locks properly; for the wheels I was thinking actionsport.de , funworks 28 mm alloy rims and hubs, approx 500 eur and around 1650 grams, but now I discovered BTLOS carbon wheels, more expensive but probably they worth the extra money. Some other ideas for wheels? Favourite chinese company?
Groupset I prefer shimano XT, brakes also XT or formula cura; I see nice knockoff saddles on aliexpress, are they acceptable?

Ahhh OK. So nobody has received it yet; anyway better that they solve the problem rather than send defective frames.  I'm placing my order now and they promise mid July shipping, that it is not so bad if it will be real  :-X .
About the bike... I have an old full suspended specialized 26" and this will be a big step ahead for sure; before falling in love with this frame my idea was to build an hardcore hardtail; the santa china is gonna be miles ahead in downhill performance, but what about uphill? I'm planning to keep the total weight around 13 kg that it isn't terrible, but the effect of the modern geometry plus possible pedaling bobbing I'll see on the field .
Anybody can recommend a rear shock with proper total lockout?

Just joined the forum, ordering an AM 831, they promise reasonable shipping time; we will see.
What I don't understand is why it looks like many people ordered the frame but apparently nobody has received it or reviewed it; so I'm buying blind, the frame is cheaper than a branded one but not cheap in absolute. 9 years ago I bought an hardtail frame and I'm still using it and I'm satisfied; full suspension has much more mechanics and things that could be wrong.
finger crossed...

Thanx for accepting me. I own since 9 years a carbonality GAEA Xc bike, no complains; ready to start the "santa china" project.
Regards from Italy.
