Fair, although I ride my gravel bike at flow MTB trails which are too far away for me to ride my MTB to (I hate driving to ride). But anywaylike Requiem84 says above, it's great that there are frames with different geometries for different use cases.

I agree with you about tyre clearance, but no point in pretending it's not a trade off.

The bump is there for good reason - it's so you don't jam your seatpost down any further and crack the seattube where it starts to narrow.

Max insert depth is simply the point at which your seatpost hits that bump stop.

Sanding it down is going to be risky, as if you don't end up with the faces of the BB on each side decently parallel, you're going to chew through bottom brackets.
BB facing (is what the job is called) is really a job for a bike shop who will have a specialist tool. It's generally not expensive to get it done.

Yeah, if it seized immediately on putting it in, this is not a corrosion issue. It just needs ****ing hauling on, I guarantee. I would put a saddle (metail rails) on the post, get a strong friend or two, and play tug of war.

For some reason, that video reminds me of a frustrated toddler failing at one of those fit-the-shape games  ;D

Hydraulic hose isn't very flexible. Of course it's not going round the curve of the fork crown if you just bash it around. A magnetic hose routing kit is like $8 on Aliexpress.

I absolutely don't buy the argument that pressfit makes a material improvement to drivetrain stiffness, or that outboard BBs put more stress on the bearings.

I would, except that outboard BBs have the bearings very well supported by aluminium bearing cups.

Given the large depth of threads in BB cups relative to their total length, and the minimal width of the external portion (c. 10mm per side), I just can't see how the degree of flex occurring beyond the plane of the frame's bottom bracket is material.

Bontrager and Lake are the go to shoes for wide feet.

Don't make the mistake of getting Lake "wide fit" ones unless you genuinely have yeti-shaped feet - even the standard Lakes are wider than any other shoe.
