Any thoughts on the relatively slack 71.2° head tube angle? I'm a bit concerned it might make the bike feel sluggish to steer.

Yes

I mounted 50mm tires and there is definitely enough clearance for at least 55mm. See pictures for clamping mechanism and total weight. I did not weigh the bare frame. Clamping with the titanium seatpost works well because you can tighten it up. Don't know if it works with 5nm on a carbon seatpost. I weigh > 100kg.

If I recall correctly about 2 months. But in fairness to Waltly there were Chinese holidays in between and I think they were not yet finished with frame design/geometry when I decided to go with this new design

Finished my Waltly Gravel Smooth built yesterday. Love it so far.

Apparently, due to lack of interest from the market, Tideace decided to not produce the frame. So no build in progress.

So same saddle height although you are 4-5cm shorter than me. To me the 58 feels perfect. For you the 56 might be better because you have a shorter upper body (not considering arm length though) but it means that you have a higher saddle elevation which not everybody likes or you have to use more spacers. Anyway, the 54 cannot be the right choice

I'm still waiting on Lexon integrated gravel bars from AliX, so I've used a standard stem and bars for now, which look fine with the cables routed through the supplied headset cover. I'm really impressed with the quality of the frame, parts, paint and finishing. Everything went together smoothly and the build was trouble free.

I've gone for a 2x build to use parts I already had and because range and spacing is still superior to 13-speed XPLR. I was worried about FD and frame clearance, so I bought a Wide AXS crank and FD, which provides 5mm clearance from FD battery with 50 mm WAM tyres. but it looks like I would have gotten away with a standard crank and FD with about 2.5 mm of clearance from the tyre. Frame clearance with standard 46/33 chainset was fine too, so the wide crank is only beneficial for tyres measuring 48 mm or more.

I may splash out on new E1 levers as I'm used to them on other bikes, but for now, I'm running with old Force D1 shifters and calipers, Rival D1 derailleurs, and a Force D2 43/30 wide chainset.

Wheels are the super-wide Elitewheels Aero+ Gravel (40e/32i/45d) shod with 48mm Tufu Thundero HD tyres.

Stem (90mm) and bars (36mm) are Prime carbon.

Saddle is cheap Elita one.

BB is ZTTO T47i.

Rotors are Zrace 160 CL.

Cassette is Goldix Ultralight 10-36 XDR.

Cages are AliX titanium.

Pedals are Garmin Vector 3.

Seat post and headset are stock.

I've only had a brief scoot around my street, so can't give ride impressions yet, but the bike doesn't feel as long as I thought it might and the 54 with 90 mm stem fits me well (178 cm tall 85 cm inseam).

Love the color scheme. ;-)

Can't believe that you need 84cm saddle height with 90cm inseam.

My inseam is about the same. I am 189cm. I ride a 58. You seem to be long legged. So I would guess 56 is your size but then (if it's really 84cm) you have quite a saddle elevation.

Any stem bar combo should work. Whatever you prefer. Might want to try Deda Superbox stem.
