Component Deals & Selection / Re: chinese carbon saddles

It's probably not surprising, but these saddles don't hold up well in crashes. I went over the bars in a crit; the back corner of the saddle had an impact with the pavement snapping one of the rails at the back and cracking the front. It wasn't really a "catastrophic" failure, as I've been pushing my luck riding it this last week. It's a decent saddle, but I'm not sure if I'll get another.

IP-156
Frame weight was right at 2kg (18 inch frame)
Carbonzone 35mm wheels
120mm Manitou Marvel fork
This my first 27.5er and first full suspension, and so far I'm loving it, coming from a 29er hardtail and 29er rigid single speed. It's so much faster and more nimble! I'm hoping to win some races on it this year.

I ordered one on ebay after my last post. So far I like it on my road bike, though I haven't spent much time on it. It didn't fit my bontrager seat post due to the oval rails. I'm temporarily using a set back post, which puts me too far back. I can say that I don't like it on my rigid mountain bike though. It has a similar shape as the specialized romin, which I was looking at before.

Subbed. There's some saddles on Ebay for ~$20 shipped. At that price, I figure it's worth a shot before I spend $100+ at the LBS for something else that may or may not work. My concern is that I also ride my road bike in regular clothes.

@SportingGoods - post up! I'd be interested to see it. Not sure where you are, but there's not too many technical downhills here in Mississippi, haha. My philosophy has always been that you spend a lot more time going uphill. Still, I would like a dually someday.

@bxcc - I measured right at 70mm between the chainstays. I wouldn't go bigger than 2.4

29er / FR-202 Race Rig

I've only seen a couple of FR-202 builds on here, so I thought I'd share mine. I ordered directly from Flyxii and received it in less than two weeks, no import duties. I have less than 200 miles on it so far, but it seems like a solid bike. I even won a 6 hour race on it yesterday  :D Current weight 22.5 lbs - I'm happy with that given my budget. Some parts were new, others were taken from my previous bike. The only issues I had were some overspray in the head tube and the Flyxii name is printed upside-down on the seatpost collar. I might cover it up someday, but for now I think it's hilarious. I'm looking hard at the FR-322 road frame now.

Seen next to my old bike (On One Inbred)
