That does not look good - aestheticwise

I built mine up some time ago but was having these huge gaps…so i want to disassemble everything again to get it right. What am i doing wrong? Is this C ring that holds the fork in place supposed to sit deeper in the bearing and therefore causing this gap?

I am wondering if i should by a new headset

Finally finished my first build with this frame this week.
Thanks to everyone helping me out with my questions. Learned a lot, had to buy a lot of tools during the process and am happy that i was able to finish it.

Still a bit unsure about the big gaps i have at the fork/headset.

I did experience the same issues as others with the seat clamp and i was a bit underwhelmed by the comfort...it feels harsher than my old cube nuroad AL with 40mm tires and an elita one seatpost. But i thin it will be a good winter bike

My frame arrived a few weeks ago (Size S, glossy black, with both seatpost options, separate Bar + Stem Combination of velobuild) and i am about to start my first build.

But i am already clueless in the first steps into the build... So i want to install the fork, spacers and stem to measure where to cut the fork. But as everything keeps feeling very loose i am not sure what i am doing wrong.

From my understanding the steps should be like this:

- install upper and lower bearing
- install the crown-race on the fork to create the right angle that fits in the lower bearing
- put the fork through the steerer tube
- install the compression ring that holds the fork in place (as shown in the picture)
- then install the "cover" where the spacers fit onto

But if i do it in this order, the "cover" (what i am holding in the picture)  does not fit properly on to the compression ring and there is a gap between steerer tube and the cover. I'm wondering why this “cover” on the underside, which rests on the compression ring, has these small holes if there are no corresponding counterparts, i.e., “pins,” that fit into these holes. This makes me doubt whether I have understood the structure correctly at all.

Did you design the decals yourself or can you share a link to them? Like the idea

I dont see any differences to the one at the website expect for the fork

The Tideace/Tantan/Longteng GV202 came to my eye but i read so many comments about the poor geometry of this that i cant decide on it.
