I have them and they work fine, but they don't bite as well on long descents. I found the cheaper, but slightly heavier IIIPRO disc rotors (around 112g for 160mm) to be superior in braking performance at half the price. Also don't get the Kactus disc rotors or disc with horizontal disc grooves. They'll eat into your brake pads!

I firts built it up as a 1x11 with Sensah brifters, GRX crank (40T), and an 11-34 cassette I had. I wanted a larger gear range so I upgraded it to Microshift Sword 2x10. The brakes are the Tektro versions of the TRP Spyres. They're OK but I need to get some better housing. Most of the other parts are from my spares or were purchased cheap.


It's primarily my commuter but it's too much fun to just be transportation.

It’s a flat bar frame, in case you missed it. So I guess take a close look at the geometry if you plan on running drop bars. Brake mounts could be another thing to consider.

It does look pretty neat though. I kind of want to get it to replace my get groceries/haul kids-bike.
