Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Riro crankarm removal
« on: July 21, 2026, 07:04:49 AM »
Bought a budget chinese carbon crankarm , with spindle and chainrings, to go on my Cannondale Synapse Carbon.
Also needed to change the BB, from BB30A to thread-togetehr 24mm, not an issue.

Issue is that the overall BB shell is now too wde for the spindle length of my new crankarm.
I'd like to replace the spindle with a new one, 5mm longer.
Problem is that the spindle itself is fixed at the crankarm in a way I don't understand. There is no visible screw / nuts / thread. Maybe glues together? Or heat press fit?

Here some photos:
I can remove the little ring at the interface between crankarm and spindle, but even doing that does not help, nothing good visible, they look like spindle and crankarm were "glued" together, which frankly I don't really think mkakes any engineering sense....

Have the version V1.0 here.
So I removed the RD and FD to do some maintenance on the frame.
Kit sat on the bench maybe a day or 2.
Put it all back and now FD wont engage.
RD works fine. Shifters fine. Battery fine. Cables fine. Removed app. New account, reinstalled app, re-paired. Still nada.
Even took the FD and plugged it into another ER9 bike and it did work. So rules FD out.

So what the phuk would make a somewhat perfectly working fine set all of sudden stop communicating with one another?
Something in the RD since this is the brains of the operation.
Of course LTWOO service is worthless as tits on a boar to reply.

Any new on this issue?
I have a different, but similar, issue.
On my LTWOO eR9, my L shifter stopped working.  It works only sporadically, and generally with some seconds delay.
The Front mech works perfect from the app, so the mech itself is good. Battery changed in the shifter, no change.
I haven't found a solution yet.

In addition, I am annoyed that ltwoo seems NOT to sell spare replacement parts, so I can't just buy only the R shifter and changed it.
Cheers,

My LTWOO eR9 right shifter no longer works well.
Is the eanywhere I can buy ONLY the right shifter (I'm inGermany BTW)?
I have not found it yet, they sell only the whole groupset......
Thanks,

My LTWOO eR9 worked great.
But now the R command (normally rear mech) just stopped working.
The battery is fully charged.
I can change gear from the app, so the mech itself works.
If I swap the commands, so that R = front, and L = back, again L works and R does not.
I suspected the CR2032 battery inside the command was dead, so I replaced it. It didn't help.

Eventually the situation improved, very slightly, R commands works occasionally, like once every 10 attempts.
Meanwhile I contacted the vendor, via AliExpress. Not sure what to expect.

Any comments?
Thanks,

Alberto

I vaguely recalled reading that because LTWOO eR9 "is identical to Shimano Di2", any cyclocomputer that can pair with Di2 can equally pair also LTWOO eR9.
I just tried with my Bryton Rider S810, but it seems the cyclocomputer does not see the electronic groupset.
Anyone has experience to share?
Thanks

Considering ordering eR9 or eRX from ALiExpress.
I'd like to get the latest version, v3, but on their website neither they specify, nor they give an email address to contact.
If I order now, which version will I get?
I'm in Germany  for the record.
Thanks,
ALberto

Edit:
well, there was a way to contact the vendor, indeed via the AliExpress website.
So I contacted them, asked them if indeed they are now selling the latest version, v3, the one with USB-C charging at the FD.
They confirmed.
I just ordered one, 424eur, should be delivered here in Germany in 10-20 days.
Hope no surprise import duty or whatever.
