Tideacebike

Would really like to ride it. Have never tried an aero frame.

Ah, now I see! It does look bad! Let us know what Justin says. I wonder if you couldn't just pull on that flake and shear it off and move on. That piece is probably a fraction of a gram, if the rest of the area is resin infused properly it's probably nothing.

I will not pull on anything at the moment, even if it is a top cosmetic layer.
It does seem a bit odd that Justin needs days to reach to the engineers in the same plant.

In my non-expert opinion there does seem to be poor compaction of the layers in the thicker areas like BB and headset.
Let's see what Justin says.

I'm French, complaining for me is an art de vivre.
But even on these pictures i dont understand what i'm looking at.
By all means, if the BB is indeed delaminating, speak w Justin, but if you provide him w evidence, please do better than what you shared so far, because i dont see the problems you see on these 2 pictures, and it's probably best to hit him first with the best quality evidence you can provide, as opposed to a blurry picture that's a cropped bit of a wider photo.

You're right about the picture quality. Here is a better one.
I am already in discussions with him. He said the engineers will review it this week.

Maybe it's the pictures, but i'm not seeing what you're seeing.
1. FD mount. Looks like the paint just peeled off. Probably they masked the bolts, and the paint peeled off when they removed the masking tape. I wouldnt worry. Potentially, put some nail polish where the paint is missing. But that looks purely cosmetic, and you'll have the FD mounted there anyway.
2. i dont see delamination. Where do you see that?
3. dry fit a bearing and see if it fits properly. That imperfection isn't ideal, but i think it's completely harmless. Tolerances are much more important (does it fit without wobbling / rocking).
4. if we're looking at the same imperfection, then it's completely harmless to the point i probably wouldn't notice it.

If it were a spaceship, these things would matter. It's a bike frame. The internals on your pictures actually look super clean, which seems much more important.

Probably I stress too much as it is my first chiner but also my life depends on this thing so I want to be sure it is safe.
It is also for this reason I went with Speeder instead of other cheaper brands.

1. The box arrived damaged in the center, seems there was a hit on the FD mount. Upon additional check I can see a small bump on the inside of the seat-tube. Justin confirmed it does not leave the factory like that.
2. See attached photo.
3 + 4 the bearing and the seatpost fit well, so it is mainly cosmetic but still not on the Speeder level that I saw from other members.

Found it. All clear regarding the battery.

Is there someone skilled that can tell me if the frame is rideable or not ?

It looks like a totally different frame from what I had. The finish of my frame is way better and perfect (you can have a look at some pictures on this topic). It is even above of some major western brands.

I also received with the frame a Di2 battery holder. It is a small piece which looks like a seatpost clamp.
The battery is mounted on the downtube, right ?

Hi Guys,
Long time lurker here. Based on what I read on the forum, several months ago ordered my first frame, the SC-R55D.
Coming from a rim brake SS EVO, I had high hopes and wanted something better than the Aliexpress frames.

Finally received the frame yesterday and I am not sure some things are acceptable.
1. There is a weird peeling near the front derailleur mounts(img_7247).
2. Bottom bracket, delamination(img_7243). This is the most worrying for me. Can it be damage from transport or it left the factory like this ? From what I know once it starts delaminating it is risky to ride, especially in the BB area.
3. Top of headtube, damage on the rim of the tube and on the bearing seat.
4. Seat tube, cosmetic damage on the rim of the hole and what looks like a lot of filler on the inside of the seat tube.
5. No di2 battery hanger included but 3 screws on the downtube. Where should I mount the battery, seatpost ?

I expected a perfect frame for the price but now I am a bit lost as it is my first frame buy.
Could someone please advise if these things are "normal" and acceptable to ride ? pictures attached
