What size tire are you running on this frame and how much space do you have?
I'm debating putting 35mm GP5000 AS TR on this bike with 26mm internal width wheels, just want to make sure I'll still have clearance with that wheel/tire combo...

Ive gotta admit I have moved on from this bike. It just never felt confidence inspiring while descending. I tried everything to fix the softness I would get when descending at speed. Different wheels/tires helped but there was always a slight wobble, especially if a light crosswind. I'm no slouch on descending, nor am I a noob at riding bikes.
I got a really good deal on a Van Rysel RCR Pro with SRAM Force group. Its been flawless. Zipp 303SW wheels feel great but I'm thinking of selling them to get something with a hooked design(Probably Caden CDAs).
Anyway, I still have to X68 and it is a Certified Fast Bike on the flats. Mine just left me feeling sketchy down the hills.

Just recently got a GT and need to buy a new chain for it. What size chain did you buy and fit(I know it will need to be cut) to your bike? Does a 114 or 126 link work better for the longer chain stay? Im using SRAM Force E1 48 big chainring and 36 big cassette cog

I can second that brand. I have two different bars from them and both have been rock solid. Easy routing also.

Beauty! How was mounting those tires onto the wheels? Why did you not go with the RS version of those tires?

Highly HIGHLY recommend 9velo.
I have them mounted on the new CD Wide wheels 24int 30ext and they are damn near impossible without multiple tools to mount.

OK, so Im glad Im not the only one. My dislike with these tires is I have to run them tubeless bc I wouldnt be able to change a tube with just tire levers. Just getting the first side on requires tire levers.

Has anyone used the 30mm version of these tires and did you have any difficulty mounting them to your wheels? If so(or not) what wheels are you running them on?
I cannot get these mounted without a hand clamp holding the bead in place and two tire levers. I have used every trick I can find on the internet and beyond to mount these. Ive gotten them on but am curious if its my wheel thats making it difficult....?

The issue with this and the Specialized post is that they are significantly heavier than the 15 due to the clamp.
Hylix made a 365mm of theirs, which is much lighter, but I can't find one currently.
This says Roubaix SL8, but no mention of Tarmac. Do they use the same seatpost?

Help me make a list of the most endurance (high stack, short reach) frames available in the OEM market please.
She desperately needs a new bike and I want to make that happen for her. She doesnt ride a whole ton and wont be racing, I just want her comfortable. She doesnt want a 'gravel' bike to ride on the road...I've tried to convince her as such would be ideal but I'm losing that conversation lol

« on: October 23, 2025, 10:35:47 AM »Mine sticks in there too, but I can get it out from the inside (wheel hub side) as the hole for the thru axle in the frame is slightly larger than the washer internal diameter.
A small flat screw driver or nail punch resting on the tiny exposed lip of the washer and then a gentle hit with a hammer pushes it out.
My washer was perfectly flush with the internal diameter of the dropout, almost as if they molded the little bastard in there lol
